Is it possible to add two buttons to a standerd mvs cab setup? If so how would i go about doing so?

I guess the question is, what for? The short asnwer is yes, but the long answer is maybe... lol. What are you hoping to do? Atomiswave set up, perhaps?

There was a thread about this not long ago on Arcade Central, yes you can put in extra buttons onto a CP but most everyone voted against the TC (topic creator who will remain nameless) because he wanted to drill holes in a minty CP. :oh_no:

Atomiswave is 5 buttons. It looks like he wants to set up a Street Fighter style layout, in which case I would set it up like this:

A B C D
D E F

This way you get both the proper Neo Geo and Street Fighter layouts in one.

Yea i was hoping to set it up so i could play the standerd mvs and also have the option of sticking a fighter pcb into the same cab without having to buy another cab.

If you want a capcom fix, just go with a Rival Schools PCB. 4 button setup and on PCB stereo out - no cab modifacations required. I wouldn't drill into an original neo CP -- I have yet to see a 6 button layout on a neo that looked like it belonged there.

If you just want a fighter fix, 90% of the neo library is just that <-- I know, stating the obvious, but hey, someone had to do it.

I say leave the MVS alone and find a decent cab on Craigslist and do what you want to it. I'm always against changing a stock MVS.

Why not just buy another CP? Put molex connectors on both the harness and the joystick/buttons so the CP's can easily be swapped by swapping a couple of plugs.
