I've had this 6-slot for maybe close to a year and I finally got around to cracking the thing open to get a nice look at the bottom board and it just brought up a whole lotta questions!
One nice thing I noticed is someone already ripped out the old battery and put it longer wires to a battery taped to the side of the board.
Something odd is it doesn't seem to have its original BIOS. Looks like an EEPROM to me. Very interesting!
Now for the stuff that caught my eye!
This chip here seems to have a resistor across it for some reason...is this some sort of repair?
Also that 24MHZ crystal has a wire soldered around it...what's up with that?
There's a 32.768KHz crystal near the batter area that has the same kind of thing going on too.
Also there's these empty sockets up there. What was the point of those?
One last thing is anyone know what size standoffs are on the 6-Slot. I'd like to get more to plaster around the cart area and get more feet to hopefully give it more support.
Thanks!
