WTB: a :D:-Lite supergun.
Can't seem to contact him at all directly and.. would take a used one if possible.

Neobitz preferred, jrok ok...

Also, looking for Last Hope cart AES. If/when I end up getting this I will need help on dumping. Eventually would like to make an LH MVS from a common cart.

Only way you can dump it is via a feed as they put epoxy all over the boards to prevent anyone from removing the chips.

Download the rom and you can use the dev tools to convert it to MVS format.

Has the rom already been dumped from the AES cart? Or does it matter if it was dumped from the Dreamcast or the AES CD ? I would think that it matters.....

I know the Neo CD version was dumped.
Right. I guess what I don't know is if the Neo CD version and the Cart version are the exact same.

Like, can somebody create bootleg MVS carts from Neo CD dumps? From what I've gathered, exact ROM dumps from MVS or AES carts can be put back on and run correctly because it's on the correct hardware.

I know the game is the same, but are the dumps?

Dumps are different but you can convert from CD to MVS. This is why I said you can download the dev tools to convert it to MVS format. The tools are on the Neobitz website.

Yeah, I really don't want to wait:

thanks for your mail.
Please stay tuned, our upcoming game will debute on NEOGEO MVS.
Afterwards we will consider a Last Hope MVS release.

Best regards,

I don't even see any promotion or talk of their upcoming game. If they do an MVS run afterwards it could take years and years!!! I mean, we gotta get this stuff before 2012 right? j/k

Maybe I will email them and see if they have the boards for an AES cart.

I may be well off base cause I've never played any version of this game, but I remember hearing that the CD was an updated version. I don't remember which was released last but I've read all 3 versions of the game are different.

Nope I think you're right.

I was pointed in the direction of a knowledgeable member here and this was the reply:

The CD version of the game would require quite an effort to do what you want because the layout (code/graphics) is completely different between a cart and CD. Most likely more work than it's worth since the cart can be found.

The smaller games that have been converted from CD were games that loaded completely into RAm from the CD and didn't require reloading.

So looks like I need to get the AES cart. It says they are sold out, but do you think I can still buy the boards from them??? I hope so.

Well technically they are not sold out, they will sell you a copy - but it will cost you mucho $$$$ basically they want you to send the casing to them and they will provide the boards and the art work. Just read all of the site lol - you can get the AES for around $700 :( - But who knows, may be well worth the $$$

I just wish I knew where I could get my hands on the stuff to make a MVS cart lol :D

This is correct, each version is slightly different. The AES came first, then the DC, and finally the Neo CD version. Out of the two I've played (DC and NCD), the Neo CD version is the best. It's got some nice gameplay tweaks and some extra modes that really improve the game. The addition of bright pink bullets in the NCD version is really helpful as I constantly lose bullets in the backgrounds on the DC version (they just blend in).
