Sound issues on my six slot machine

The sound randomly dies out on one of my babies. In addition, the left speaker usually doesn't work. I've cleared out the back up ram. I've cleaned the mobo and the carts, unplugged then replugged everything.

So.. anyone got any clues?

Try the audio test. If it's missing a side too then check the wiring to the speakers and the speakers themselves. If they are OK then install a cap kit.

It works in test mode when I turn it on.

If the sound has died from gameplay, and I soft reset (via unibios) the sound is still dead in test mode.

If a quick power cycle restores the audio then clean the slots & carts...

If not, then recap the sound section on the MVS board.

I guess it will need a recap, since it's happening on different slots with different games. Poo.
