I just got my Hyper Mobo in and switched it into my Street Fighter 1 cab. On the SF1 board, there were two additional molex connections on either side of the main Jamma connection, there are no such connections on the Hyper mobo. I plugged in the main Jamma connection and the cab won't turn on, at least I don't think it will.

It's been a long time since I used the cab, I thought it powered up just by plugging it in (since I can't find any type of on/off switch). Is that common for old cabs? Do they turn on just by plugging them in? I'm getting all sorts of pissed off because I cant even get it to turn on.

I tried searching for manuals online to no avail, can someone please help me out? I can take some pics with my cell if needed but they won't come out good at all.

Look somewhere inside the cab, the switch might be in there (or on top above you). Also, make sure you dont have any kill switches that are off. I had a SF2 cab that did that to me.

Ok, I feel like an idiot, the dip was on top of the cab. So it turns on fine now, cool.

Now I don't have any audio, the colors run, and the kick buttons aren't working. I thought SF1 would be using the same kick harness as all other SFs, I guess not. I noticed switches on the back of the monitor to fine tune it, so I should be able to fix the colors with trial and error. I'll start looking for a specific kick harness, but could someone help me with the audio?

Maybe those extra connections had something to do with it??

Not entirely sure but the wiring harness from SF2 won't work on SF1 perfectly since the wiring may be different. As to the 2 additional molex connectors on the board, that could be the set-up for the pneumatic buttons that appeared on the original dedicated large cabinet before the 6 button retrofit replaced that.

So any idea on how I can troubleshoot the audio? I know it worked before I switched games because I remember it being incredibly loud.

Get a jamma pinout and see what your speakers are hooked up to.
I am not familiar with Street Fighter 1 boards, maybe one of those connectors was for the speakers?
If they are wired to the jamma harness look for a volume pot on the board.

I was thinking about that myself. Which JAMMA pins did the original SF1 use when connecting the "punching pad" to the board? Was it only one pin (on/off)?--Because if the original harness in the cabinet is wired for one or more of the pins to be connected to something that none of the later boards used (maybe the thread-starter's audio) then that might be the explanation.
