Just in case anyone didn't know...this is one that automatically goes to NTSC when used with an NTSC Genesis. I've never understood why the Japanese version fetches more than the Euro one, since the Euro one is in English...

Just want to make sure people get the correct information. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read that a pal Alien Soldier will run at around 70hz in an ntsc machine. So it makes a tough game even tougher by speeding it up.

Nope. An NTSC TV can't run any faster than 60Hz anyway, so it's a moot point. I've had two copies and they've both worked fine.

Mine runs at 120hz.;)

I guess they're wrong.

Pretty sure that information is based on running the PAL version of the game in Kega Fusion or GENS, which WILL run it at 70Hz because the 60Hz coding isn't in the ROM. (And more importantly, a computer monitor will run at the full 70Hz. A standard definition NTSC TV will only run at 60 frames per second. Now, if we're talking an HDTV, you shouldn't even be considering this because the Genesis looks like crap when hooked up to an LCD.) The Sega Channel version was based on the Euro release, and it was also in 60Hz.

I had both Jap and Euro versions of this (not roms) and I can confirm that the Euro one does indeed run too fast when played in 60hz, it's really obvious right from the start where the intro music plays far too quickly. The Euro version was PAL optimised for 50hz hence why it messes up when run in 60hz.
