Hey everyone. So the power supply in my MVS-4-25 (its a version 2) works, but its relatively old, and just to be safe I'd like to buy a new one. However, I was wondering if some of the members that grace these forums would be able to point out to me a brand of power supply that they have found to work well. A link to this type of power supply from an online store would also be nice.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry to drag this topic back... been lurking here for years.

I think my 2 slot MVS cab needs a new power supply.

The monitor and marquee lights will come on but the fan on the PSU doesn't spin
and nothing else happens. My understanding is that the monitor power just passes
through the PSU so this is normal?

The fuse is fine, the supply in it is an A Matic UE-150HB.
I just want to make sure that the power supply linked above
http://www.happcontrols.com/powersupplies/80007200.htm
will work and that it will just drop in with no messing around.

It says it's 115/230vac selectable. Do I just switch it to 115vac and away I go?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks guys!

Costy but yes, that one will work. If you buy that one from HAPP or any U.S. site, it will be pre-set to 115 so you should be good to go.

Sorry to bump an old thread (it wont let me create new ones yet), but I had a question for you guys. When it comes to power supplys, how do amps work? Right now I have 2 peter chou PSU's in my virtua fighter cabinets that are rated at +5V/16A, -5V/0.5A, and +12V/6A. According to happ, the replacement psu is rated at +5V/15A, -5V/1A, and +12V/5.5A. Is this OK to use as a replacement? I'm going to put the order in as soon as I can confirm this is OK to use.

Amps are like horsepower, you only use what you need.

It's 15 amps max output meaning if the board you are using only needs 5 amps, it will only pull what it needs from the PSU.

You don't know by any chance what a Model 1 and Model 2 board would require, do you? I don't see it listed on system16 and the manual just says 150W PSU as far as I can see :(

A Peter Chou type power supply will likely be insufficient for Model 1 or 2.

These are really power hungry systems, Sega use PC style supplies for them.
