I'm sick of this vague best offer shit because your offer is never good enough. I don't like being put in that position. The ball should not be in my court. YOU want to sell this to ME. You obviously posted this stuff for sale at a specific time because you wanted to sell it sooner rather then later, or never.

I refuse to send out offers because it just makes me uncomfortable and like I'm insulting the seller, which might sour any potential future sale.

Just tell us how overvalued your merch is so we can stay away sooner. Idpn't want the stress. I just want to buy something.

p.s. I don't charge 3% paypal but I'm going to start a list of everyone that does just in case one of those people buys from me. I don't mind paying the 3%, but I feel I need to maintain a balance now.

I have to agree with this. I hate it when sellers have no asking price and just say make me an offer. Then you make them an offer, and they say "no, I was trying to $XX." If you want $XX, just say it and cut out the "make me an offer" crap.

Other forums have rules requiring the seller to state a set price:

Arcadeotaku.com: "An ad must include: Prices for all items."

Assemblergames.com: "All items must have set prices. Trade items are exempt."

Digitpress.com: "Always list prices."

It would be a good idea to adopt a similar rule here.

An even better idea would be, if the seller lists no price and just says "make me an offer," then everyone should collectively start bombarding the seller with lowball offers. That will force the seller to quickly post what his asking price is.

Does this include "interest check" threads? When someone has a fake sale just to see what they could make, or no? Of should we leave "interest checks" out of the sale forum all together?

It annoys me, and interest-check threads annoy me also. but meh

I always include paypal and delivery on my sales, what buyer wants to add 3% after just because the seller only chooses to accept paypal. hah

People who ask for it from the buyer are lame.

I love how bibs has been here for one year but now he's an authority on sales threads, haha. if thats the case, stop faking your feedback on off site deals :tickled:

Yes.

We need to ammend our Sales Manifesto to force the seller to include a price.

Yeah...I've never liked this shit either, really. Basically a silent auction, but whatever. Seems to be a trend within the past year and a half or so.

The only reason why I haven't set a price for my current sales thread is that I don't have the time ATM to look for prices of my stuff. If your offer sounds good enough then I'll accept it. If not then we'll work something out.

The only reason why I'm asking the seller to pay for the three percent is that I trying not to lose any money on my end (and it always leave me in the red, this is true for higher payments). I might sound like I'm money hungry but I need all the cash I can get ATM. Of course they will be people who will disagree with me but let me tell you this: I have no problems doing offers and paying the three percent.

Edit: Well it looks like that I might have to remove the three percent rule from my thread, actually this is my first time applying the rule to any of my sales.

We should be like Killer Cabs and just delete the thread if it doesn't have a set price.

If you don't even have the time to post prices, what would stop a prospective buyer from thinking you wouldn't have the time to even ship said items?

I thought I was alone on this, it makes no fucking sense not to list a price unless your trying to bait suckers, which if this is the case your on the wrong forum.

What a stupid sentiment. Do you even know how to negotiate?

it doesn't matter who sets the first price. Neither side wants to start off with a price. If I say "make an offer" and you want the item, then just make an offer. If I say "I want x amount more" then you can take it or leave it. If I like your offer and just sell it then you win. It's not much different than if someone sets a price and then you offer him less. Hence I see your complaint as the mark of a lazy man.

Hey, I just put my PSP up for sale yesterday asking for offers. But I put a price on it this morning because people are either too lazy or too afraid to make an offer.

Sometimes people just don't know what to ask for stuff that they've been sitting on for awhile. Give us a break, rade. :oh_no:

I like it when people don't list a price, then say they will sell to the best offer...

Then are miffed when I start it at $1 shipped.
