Big Red Monitor Issue

I got an issue with my big red monitor, I think my neighbors upstairs have a huge speaker above my cab that's causing the corners of my screen to turn greenish purple. If I move my cab a couple of feet forward the problem go's away, but I can't leave my cab like that nor can I put it anywhere else. Is there like a counter magnet thing I could put on the top of my cab so I could get rid of this problem. I feel like knocking on there door and telling them to move those speakers to another part of there apartment.

you could always knock on their door just to confirm if there is infact a speaker, otherwise any kind of sheet metal that attracts to magnets should do the job.

that area must have strong magnetic field,it does happen.the only way you could get the screen right is with a manual degauss wand

I would think that would have to be one big ass speaker to cause interference through the floor/ceiling.

Im assuming it's a speaker, I don't know for sure. They have to have something above me that is causing it to do that.

yes thats the kiddie,try ebay and type "degaussing"
make sure you get a 115vac if you are the U.S but also check with the foreign sellers whether theirs will operate on 115vac as i know some can do both

do not buy the home made one as its a fire hazard

magnetic fields occur naturally and are sometimes found metal framed buildings

You take the degaussing coil to the front of the monitor (while operating), and slowly make circles/pull back with it. You'll see the monitor do all the freaky colors and as you're pulling out widen the circle.

This is how I was taught to do it at least, and it's worked fine for me.
