How Much Should I Be Paying For a Cap Kit Installation?

I bought a big red 2 slot recently and the picture is all messed up. It seems pretty clear to me it needs a cap kit. I don't know anything about doing that, so I have to hire someone. There aren't a lot of places that do that kind of thing in my area. I talked to a guy at the most well known place and he told me "75 bucks for the labor, 150 for the kit" and I stared at him like he was an idiot until he got uncomfortable and walked away.

I understand that installing a cap kit is a pretty easy/common procedure, and I don't want to get ripped off. Have any of you guys payed to get one installed, and what is a more reasonable price for the procedure?

Thanks guys.

The labor is hard to put a price on - it's not rocket science but it does require some skill and a couple hours of work. You'll have to judge how much that's worth to you. As for the cap kit, it's going to be less than $10.

the job would take less than 1 hour for a pro and the cost of the cap kit would be very little unless there was an expensive large electrolitic

this job should not cost anymore than $80 all in

Eh.. The cap kit shouldn't costs more than $15. As for labor though, if it's the only guy then $75 for everything isn't a bad price, but $150 for the kit is WTF.
