Hello, everybody.
As everybody knows, Coinop Express is offering a deal on some Egret II’s, which BigBattle has already posted about here. Some members have suggested to me that it might be more feasible to receive the container of Egret’s at my warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia. So I spoke with BigBattle today, and we discussed the idea of putting together and receiving the order in Atlanta, Georgia, rather than Wilmington, NC.
Basically, the question of interest is whether the majority of members would prefer to receive/pickup their cabs in Atlanta, Georgia.
Here are some of the advantages to Atlanta, rather than Wilmington:
1. It is more central to most of the Southeast, and is therefore closer to all of Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, and most of North and South Carolina. This saves not only on drive time to pick up the cabs, but also on gas and gas money.
2. I already have a warehouse and receiving docks, and the facilities to receive and store the cabs until they are picked up. This saves us the expense of having to pay for a warehouse and storage in North Carolina, which would be needed if the cabs are received there.
3. Picking it up at my warehouse allows you to test the cab when you come to pick it up, which you might not be able to do picking it up at some commercial shipping warehouse (where they want you to just pick up your stuff and leave).
4. If you need the cab shipped, I have the facilities to palletize a cab or otherwise ship it (though you will still have to make your own shipping arrangements).
5. Many of the members of this forum in the Southeast have already been to my warehouse and know where it is.
6. As Deuce suggested, for those members who will be coming to the Metro Atlanta gaming gathering in March, it will save them a trip. Instead of having to make one trip to pickup a cab and another for the gaming gathering, people can come for the gathering, pickup the cab when they are here, and take it home with them (provided they bring a suitable vehicle, of course).
If you are interested in joining in the candy cab order, please post here and indicate if you have a preference of Atlanta, Georgia, or Wilmington, NC. Or post your zip code, so we can calculate which would be a shorter distance for you to drive. If you are planning on having the cab shipped via NAVL, it probably won’t matter.
Please keep in mind that we have to order at least 26 Egret II’s (10 with a 2-player control panel, 16 with a Mahjong control panel). We have to order all those before we can place this order and get these cabs at these prices. We can order additional cabs once this minimum is reached, but this minimum must be reached to get the discounted prices.
Also, if you have any ideas or think of something, please post it here or send me a PM.
