Hello there fellas

I had bought a Shinobi Jamma PCB along with adapter for it to be jamma compliant

Thing is when i hook it up it doesnt boot. The red light on the (double) PCB is on but nothing shows on screen

I read that these boards have a suicide battery, although the ebay seller when he sold it to me said it was ok

I bought some other jamma games from his (double dragon) which work ok

Any solutions to my problem anyone?

Thanks

Well its a system16 from sega and does have a suiside battery. I have a spare set of shinobi roms and some extra 68000 and z80b chips if it needs to be brought back to life. Is the 68000 or the Z80 a big black box? If its the Z80 everything should be ok except sound...if the 68000 chip is a big block than the game wont run without a standard 68000 chip and a few new roms installed.

I'll check the board tomorrow Pas and even take a picture so you can see for yourself

I bought it about a year ago , but didnt test it until now (my bad!)

If new roms (and battery maybe?) are needed I'll contact you if we can arrange something

Well the best idea is to replace the few roms with code that make reference to the battery backed up decryption code in the 68000 or Z80 chips...then just replace the processor chip. Makes it so you never have to worry about a battery again :) And parts are very cheap these days for them so doing so doesnt cost much $.

Do you have an EEProm programmer?? If so, this should be an easy fix, assuming it's the suicide battery that's gone.

No i dont have one dude, but i know people in the scene here in Greece that maybe do have one.

Also my double dragon pcb was playing ok, suddenly the sound stuck (a long beeeep was being heard) Now everytime you wait a couple of minutes after switching off the cabinet and then turn it back on, you get sound for about 3-4 seconds and then it goes back to that long beeeep
