Cosmetic differences

What are the cosmetic differences between the Jap and American aes?

None.

Both U.S and Japanese system looks same, and the game play is also same, but the latter, you can see blood , Mai's bounce (in kof 2000) <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> and some extra scenes which you can't see in US system. I personally prefer jap one, because of above merits plus I feel jap language is more comfortable.

They look pretty much exactly the same.

So there's no way to tell if it's Japanese or American by looking at the console. I own a beyond MINT American console, but want to get a cheap Japanese one for Metal Slug X and 3. I want to see the blood gush out of those soldiers <IMG SRC="smilies/smirk.gif" border="0"> I in no rush however.
