just picked up a 1 slot mvs (60$)and was going to gut it for a mame machine but seems everything pcb side works machine fires up and i hear sounds but no picture so i think ill try and save this machine from the tourture of being made into a multicade

in the add the guy said somthing about a circut board on the rear of the monitor being cracked so im guessing its the cap and pot adj board is this part simple to replace are the parts easy (cheap to be gotten)are they universal parts or do i need a screen spesfic board

thanks in adv btw and man im getting hooked on this mvs stuff lol if i cant fix the screen cheap ill just turn the pcb into a home console lol

A pic of the neckboard would help (that's the one mounted on the tube). Probably broke in transport. Can usually be fixed (if it's not missing too many pieces). If the actual tube cracked, then you're in trouble.

If you want to replace the board, you'll have to find one from the same monitor. What monitor is it btw?

Edit: Careful around the anode cap, that thing is dangerous.

For consolizing ideas, check out Strider77's awesome project here, for others just search consolize.

For the record, it pains me to see you mame a second Neo, since I can't find a single one around here (at all, not just for sale). But it is your cab. Your $60 cab sitting next to your $25 cab... Man you're lucky :crying:

this one is a sega cab with mvs guts so dont fret not hurting a actual neo cab this time lol just got home with the cab need to wait for some help unloading this beast and ill have some pics of the board on the back thats cracked

at least i kept the real 4 slot cab looking like a neo cab and didnt rap it with multicab art and marquee

if i can get this monitor to work i may re hab the real mvs cab and put the 1 slot in it

Glue the PCB back together and jumper the broken traces.

Easy fix.

Tutorial found here, by Bob. Should be fixable.

Sorry to hear about your toe.

Any chance you know what it was before it became a Neo?

thanks for the tut good one to great pics i was thinking i ad to expose the trace

lol yea my toe freakin hurts lol its all purple allready i think the neo gods are pissed at me for mameing that 4 slot lol (if i can fix this neck board ill be putting all this 1 slot stuff in it so please neo gods dont vex me any more lol)

im quite unshure about what was in the cab before i can tell it was originaly a brown cab
and it looks like the marquee is the original one but someone cut a hole in the middle for the i slot

i know its a sega since inside the front panel ithas a sega waranty/service sticker

also just found out all the guts are still the original as after removing the 1 slot board it has a jamma converter on it

Congratz!

Man that CP has been drilled way to many times! The cab looks to me like a Zaxxon but the CPO doesn't. It looks so familiar, but I don't know what it is. Did you look under that CPO? I'm thinking there might be another underneath it...

How were the holes filled anyway?

What year is the warranty from? It might help.

they were not filled at all it was just coverd with some blue vinyl and then had a peice of acrylic on top

i drilled 5 of thoes holes and elongated the middle one on the left to make it a 6 button cp

i went the same route to repair the cp but i took a peice of hard board and coverd it with some textred heavy duty vinyl wallpaper (after drilling holes for the buttons ) and then i claned up the cp (no art under that art btw)and then coverd it in thy vinyl then mounted the hard board to the top and here she is

well while adding some usb ports to the cab i found a label that stats the cab was originaly a congo bongo cab
congo_bongo_2.jpg

but the artwork on the cp did not match that games artwork im still trying to find what game that art came from
damn looks like this machine has seen many difrent pcb's
in the cab on the wood is a stamp gremlin (wich means it was a sega/gremlin machine
