Newer AES ..belonging to a member here.
I think the new ones do not have the Shield plate.

Um... no... not really. That bottom pic is of my Neo•Geo Freak Testers AES which is a totally unconventional system anyway. I now know what the ports at the rear are for...
At first I though it was a stereo mod but in actual fact they are av jacks for connecting the system to a PC or VCR :)

There are three general boards - US, European (PAL) and Japanese. All three have different layouts.

All the US boards I've seen look like the one in your photo, the PAL ones have some differences I've noticed, and so do the Jap ones. However, even the latest AES's have the shield under the lid for the earth lead.

lol... you really picked the wrong board to do a comparison with! That's probably the only unit like that in existence tickled

Where does it connect to the PC? Through the graphics card?

I assume so... or monitor maybe... I'm thinking it's more for producing promo videos... but I'm not sure, because you'd be able to record straight off the screen anyway. I really have no idea what those jacks are for to be honest, but they're defintly not stereo jacks.

I never really bothered trying to sell it properly to be honest. Don't think I'll bother either... although I'm not a collector in the 'FTL' sense of the term, this machine is so unique, if only for the fact that the modifications were done by SNK themselves, that I'd I think I'd really regret selling it...
But then...
Everyone has their price wink
