Is this a good deal for this 2 slot cab?

I found a cab on craigslist, its a 2 slot with five games included. He originally wanted $500 but I offered $400. The guy has asked me to call him tomorrow to iron out any details I assume. I'd also have to drive for it, probably around two hours or so. The games included are:

1. World Heros 2 Jet
2. Voltage Fighter
3. Soccer Brawl
4. The King of Fighters 96
5. Samurai Shodown

the cab better be in really good shape with near perfect monitor...

I don't know about that yet, I'm going to call him tomorrow sometime.

What do you think is a fair price for it? I knew I shouldn't have offered him $400 already.

Depends on how bad you want the cab.

My first cab was a painted goldie that I paid 350 for. No way in hell would I pay that now. Then, I happily handed over the money.

You could always look at it as paying $200 for the cab and 40$ for each game. Looking at it from that perspective, it's an ok deal.

yea you could look at it that way but even at $40 a game, that's pretty generous on a few of those games.

I paid $305 for my v3 4 slot with 5 games. But again, his machine might be in perfect or near perfect condition. I've seen golds go for the $250 range around here in Pittsburgh.

Two Slot Big Red I'd offer $300.00 if it's in good condition

Two slot Goldie $250.00.for the cab alone if it's nice..Games 5-10 each so it rounds out to $300.00:loco:

(agreed= Depends on how bad you want the cab..

at one time I was willing to pay $1000.00-1200.00 for a Big Red(within pick up distance)

and when I wanted other cabs I was willing to pay out of my ass for them..

but all my Neo Wood cabs ranged in price around $300.00

I think I paid $475.00 for my candy with no mobo

I forget

think of it like this:

$400 total

5 games: $25 each = $125

2 slot mobo = $75

Neo cab = $200

IMO, not too bad. Sure, some folks have gotten a better deal, but someone could say that about any deal honestly. IMO, you didn't make a bad deal as long as the monitor and cab are ok.

Yeah, that's why I just said it was an ok deal. If you bought those games off ebay, you'd have to deal with shipping costs and possibly multiple sellers and then the whole bootleg thing.

The convienence and instant gratification could take a 20$ game and make it worth 40$ in this case and could also increase what I'd be willing to pay for the cab.

Does tha cab have a 19" or 25" monitor and is it a dedicated or a conversion? Those factors could be the deal breaker right there for me. 19" conversion cab = no way in hell. A 19" conversion neo cab isn't worth more then 200$.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to call tomorrow and ask him about the condition of the cab and the monitor especially. I might even try to get him down to $350 since I'll have to rent a U-Haul and drive a couple hours to get it.

well, there's an ad in craigslist for a 2 slot with 9 games, all commons, and the guy wants $600 for it. but open to offers. I think that's pretty high.

If you have or have access to a Chevy Blazer, the cab will fit nicely laying down. I have a 2000 Blazer and it works perfectly fine for hauling cabs.

Thanks.

it really depends on where you are. Some places have a lot of cabs just laying around. California for example. Even Pittsburgh should still have a ton of old cabs supplied from H. Lazar & Sons that were used to stock the universities. But in Indiana I can't imagine there's a lot of supply.

400 is not out of the question. Seriously, I have nothing against saving a few bucks and all, but people are so damn cheap when it comes to buying cabs. Obviously this price is fine if the cab is in decent shape and I don't mean mint 'cause wear and tear is only expected, but aside from the CP needing refurbishing, the side logos needing to be redone and a cap kit for tip top sharpness everything else should be ok, meaning the board should work, hopefully there won't be any major wood damage that can't be solved and there's no water damage.

Hi all. First post. Not too bad of a deal, but better deals are out there. I just picked up Red 2 slot w/ a really nice cab for 200. Had a 19" monitor in it (I swapped in a freshly rebuilt 25" K7000 as soon as I got it home) and came w/ World Heroes and Next Glory (which is surprisingly fun). Hope to build up my cart collection soon. If you get the cab, hope you enjoy it. Any pics yet?

So your saying that you bought a cab for 200 without a monitor and 2 games right? Is that suppossed to be one of those out there better deals?

Welcome to the drama Robert.;)

uh, he said 19" monitor, and 19" isn't that bad, but yeah, it's no 25" so i could understand him swapping it out.

Yeah, it had it's original monitor replaced w/ a 19" sometime in it's life. I've been collecting Pins and other vids for years and had that k7000 25" waiting for something that needed it to come along. Couldn't pass up the deal since it was close to me and the cab is all original (other than the monitor) and really nice.

Well, did you get the cab Genji?

I didn't end up buying it. I figured it would cost me too much money to both buy it and get it to my house. Plus I'm planning a move next year and it would have just been more crap to move. Heavy crap at that.

Its a good thing I didn't buy it too, I was laid off last week.
