Can we eliminate some of the STICKIES in General Dis?

It takes a full scroll of the wheel just to get past them and see the first actual thread.

Maybe eliminate some of the lesser used ones?

Such as...

NGF Selling on ebay again Last post on 7/13/08

Starting threads in Gen Dis Not to undermine Tak here, great idea, but I don't think it gets read by no0bs, therefore (unfortunately), it doesn't work

All About NGCD Okay, I hate to say this one b/c as some of you know, I love the NGCD, but last post was on 10/08/07. Over a year ago.

Memory Card Faq Also a great thread by E-Dub before he botched the Feelgood absorption (), but last post was 09/15/07

Again, it's not that some of these aren't (or weren't at the time) good ideas, but they don't see any/much use, and they clutter up General Discussion.

Perhaps I'll get clubbed with dead baby seals for suggesting this, but perhaps a separate subforum specifically for these old stickies? Or maybe in the "Best of" section? They seem like they're worth keeping around, but they do clutter up the more active forums.

All About Neo Geo CD was meant as a reference thread and still contains lots of interesting links, it's also the only NGCD-specific collection of info we have on ng.com so I have to veto against unsticking it. Same goes for the Memory Card FAQ.

I'm cool with unsticking my Starting Threads in GD though. You can tell from the number of views that nobody gives a damn on it.

I agree that there's a lot of useful info in there, but it's bogged down with a lot of useless noise. It would be better consolidated into a FAQ of some kind, perhaps accessible from the left-hand menu. That way, it's more of a true resource. I'm not saying they should be allowed to vanish into the ether, but rather put into a better format and/or moved somewhere dedicated to long-time stickies.

I agree that both the NGCD and Mem Card threads are great reference threads, but maybe we could do something else with them?

They contain info that could be adapted for the main site and concurrent FAQS, instead of being stickied in General Dis.

Deuce's idea of having a locked forum like 'Best of' for reference threads may not be too bad. I know we just consolidated the board down, which was a great idea, but how about adding a sub-forum in 'Best of', or even adding a locked forum below 'Best of' called 'Neo Geo/SNK Reference Material', or something of that sort?

Just as an additional note, I was planning to distribute an HTML-with-images based manual for the translation to SSRPG. The thought just occurred to me that perhaps I could request that it be hosted here, since GameFAQs certainly won't host such a beast, and when the game inevitably gets distributed prepatched (likely for money :P), I'd like for it to have a stable place to reside. That would, I'd imagine, be a perfect fit for something like a specialized FAQ/reference section.
