Anyone have positive experience w/ 3rd Strike

I really want this for my Capcom Impress, but w/ all the horror stories I read and hear from other members is it really worth the investment?

I bought this cab for Super Turbo, but when my buddies are not around it can get a bit boring playing the cpu on ST.


I saw a cps3 3rd Strike just go for like $237 on ebay a couple days ago but the guy said he hadnt tested it since April so I was weary of bidding on something that may not work.

If I get it should I buy local only.....ie so cal.

I paid $400 for mine and its the best thing I ever did! Best fighting game in history as proved by the fact its still top 10 in the arcades in Japan 9 years after its release.

Buy one with a new battery and you neednt worry for another 5 or 6 years.

3rd Strike is a great game, defenately one of the best! Better than SSF2X/T? never! Better than Fatal Fury Special? Yeah right!

3rd Strike is heavenly that's for sure, but there's a ton of better games out there.

It would be cheaper to get a copy of the PS2 version and a PS2 to JAMMA adaptor.

Just because a game is popular, doesn't mean it's any good. Halo is an example.

I would say 3rd Strike is one of those games to give an hour once a month or less, there are far better fighters out there. 3rd strike might be good for tournaments, but single player? yuck, its incredibly boring.

Word I have the ps2 version and appropriate sticks to play on. The speed is off. Iam fimilar with the game. Just affraid of how sensitive cps3 is!!!

Who the fuck has heaps of friends into 2D japanese fighters? Not me thats for sure.

Its such a fucking Niche genre, ask most gamers that dont come here. 'ever heard of the new KOF12 !?' and their reply will likely be...'KOF12? what the fuck is that?'

No, they'd say they've already started level grinding in KOF 13 and ask if you're interested in any preorders.

I try not to assocciate myself much with people that have nothing in common with me, for the most part I could honestly say that all my friends that I see frequently know what KOF XII is all about, even funnier this guy I know plays quite a bit of aracde games and he calls KOF 11 KOF X I and I mean he spells the roman number as letters! The guy is fucked in the head no doubt, but he knows his shit, hell I could say he knows more than I do about new releases, but I couldn't say that he's the better player.

I never thought about it, which is kind of weird, I guess I should feel pretty lucky.
