Are there any 4-player, 6-button games out there?

Hello, everybody.

I have a showcase cab that has a control panel that can accomodate up to four players, and it also has the slots and holes for up to six buttons per player.

I am thinking about wiring it up for 4-player, 6-button play, but before I do, I was wondering if there any games that accomodate 6-button play AND 4 players. All the games I can think of are one or the other but not both.

Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Not exactly the last one (shape is right but the buttons are in the wrong spaces), but it depends on how many players there are on the cab.

This is the info from the D&D: SoM manual. The positioning is not the same in D&D: ToD due to I believe the Item and Select buttons being reversed.

:A: = Attack
:B: = Jump
:C: = Item
:D: = Select

4 player layout:

:D::C:
:A::B:

but they are sligtly askew like this

__:D:_:C:
:A:_:B:

The 3 player layout is either (default)

:A::B::C:
:D:

or

__:B:
:A:
__:D:
:C:

The Z shape above is from an additional 3 player insert template but I don't have it in front of me and I'm not positive on if AB is on the top or the bottom.

The 2 player layout is

:A::B::C:
:D:

On a cab, how are the four buttons for D&D usually positioned?

:A::B::C::D:

Jaelus: good info, but Biblio's cab has already been drilled in the street fighter layout for 4-players, so you need to choose from something that fits from that.

Thanks, Jaelus and Andy.

Do either of you have a CPS2 kick harness wiring diagram so I know which how to wire the buttons to the kick harness? All the diagrams I have seen only show how to wire the kick buttons (4, 5, and 6) for players 1 and 2, but not how to wire up players 3 and 4.

I hope you have a fully populated CPS2 option harness. (Don't call it a kick harness if you're not playing fighting games)

Oh yea, and have fun trying to figure out how to swap between the kick harness pinout and the 3/4 player pinout.

P1 LK = P3 Right
P1 MK = P3 Left
P1 HK = P4 Down
P2 LK = P3 B1
P2 MK = P3 B2
P2 HK = P3 Coin

That's a lame design. It seems like the best way to work around is to use molex connectors for different configurations: one connector for 2-player 6-button games, and one connector for 4-player 4-button games. Still it seems like a poor design to me.

Guilty Gear Isuka is 4 players with 5 buttons each, however you rarely see actual 5 buttons panels except the actual guilty gear panels. Most have the hard kick button capped off. I remember seeing one in the arcade like this once, its possible that is an old Isuka cabinet.

The only 4 player 6 button arcade game that I can think of is Street Fighter IV which does a roulette between 4 cabinets.
