Hello. I was looking around on the net today and I saw sombody near me was selling a MV-1F board.

I wanted to know is this a good board to buy? I'm planning on getting a supergun and I want to get a good board that will work with every game. I saw the MVS kit of RotD for 60 bucks and I was thinking of getting that.

So please let me know about if this board is a good one, should I buy the new Bios chip too?

Thanks for your time!

In general terms it is a good board, features stereo and controller ports and it's not that big, so I would say is a good chance for a supergun. Anyway be aware that ROTD might not work with it, being a fault in the cart and not in the board. Yes, installing the unibios is recommended, in fact in the future it may solve the problem with ROTD not working in certain boards.

Check www.hardmvs.com for much more info about MVS, and bios.cps2shock.com for info about the unibios.

ROTD did work in my friend's Mv1-F, although many people has reported it didn't work in theirs. There's also some other models in which ROTD has worked for some people and not for others.
So I would say that we can't be sure if ROTD will work or not only by the model of the board.

Thanks for the responces guys. Here is a picture of it. It's on Ebay, so hopefully by showing this sombody else won't bid on it.

I know once I get it I will give it a good scrub down with an old tooth brush and put an order in for the BIOS chip.

Wish me luck, I have been playing Neo-Geo at the arcade since I was a little kid when it first came out. It's going to be awesome to be able to play all the games I loved as a kid and all the newer ones that I have missed.

Speaking from my own experiences ,thats an excelent board { yup I have one currently :D } Its a great board for smaller cabinets like my candy due to the short height, it has almost all the bells and whistles on it, stereo sound , AES ports ,headphone board connections, credit counter plugin ,socketed bios. Only thing missing is the ability to run a memory card ,which I wouldnt use anyway.

As for the uni-Bios well you really dont need one ,I run a factory US bios in mine and Im happy with it. get the Uni-Bios if you want all the extra things it offers like the cheat system and different regions for region specific game options like "bouncy" as well as the AES mode if that appeals to you ?

Ive been content with the standard bios and what it offers ,I will most likely grab a Uni-Bios at some point just for kicks if nothing else ,either way you will enjoy this board. wink

I've owned my MV-1F for several months. It could very well be one of the more ideal MVS boards, but there's the issue of no memory card support and the fact that ROTD simply cannot work properly.

Regardless, I still think the MV-1F is a great board and worth buying.

For making a compact super gun, the board is the bees knees. The only board that offers extra features (ability to conect to a MV-1C memory card reader) is the MVH-1 but its a lot bigger, almost twice the size.
