Hi all,

I'm hoping to take my first tentative steps into arcade gaming at home.

I've looked at this and will probably pick one up as although it seems pricey, they come recommended:

I'm assuming playing games like R-Type, Ghouls and Ghosts etc won't be a problem. One of the things I'm not sure about however are CPS2 games. With a Supergun, do you still need to buy both boards for the game and indeed, will this Supergun play them ok?

Thanks in advance.

If that's a $400 supergun that just outputs SCART and comes with a Genesis controller than... give me $100, I'll kick you in the balls and we'll call it even.

There's no reason that thing should cost more than $100 tops. From the feature set, it consists of a power supply, Jamma harness and an audio circuit, wired up and droped in a beige box.

Granted, if you do have a SCART enabled TV (and being from the UK you probably do), you don't need a video converter - but, then again, it should reduce the price!

When it comes to superguns, I view it formulaically:

Parts+Labor=Price.

The parts are, maybe, $50. The labor, again, maybe $50. That's it.

In conclusion, it is not a good deal. You could just buy one of these:

Wire up a power supply and a controller for 1/10th that price.
