Anyone know any good arcades in the Twin Cities area, preferably in St. Paul? I have seen the usual run of the mill skeet ball/crap arcades around, especially at movie theaters. Any real arcades, where it's just an arcade and not a side attraction at a movie theater or something? Especially any arcades with Neo, classic games, or shmups. Especially muchi muchi pork, I'd even go to minneapolis to play that game for the first time.

EDIT: I know a couple arcade dealers in the area, but on eplace is rentals only, and they don't let you touch anything until after you've payed your rental fees, and the other place is a crowded shop, not really an arcade.

The 'cades in the cities are an extinct species, besides the stray bowling alley/pizza place, you'll find some stuff at the state fair during the summer.

There's also SS Billiards in Hopkins, it's an arcade that's been open for 36 years, but they specialize in Pinball with very limited arcade games.

Otherwise, I've heard Eclipse Records in St. Paul has a small arcade, but I haven't checked it out yet.

Remember Pop's Arcade? Whatever happened to that. I remember when they had KOF 99 and Bust-A-Move Again. It was pretty small, but had some serious games and serious players.

Dave and Busters would be the place. I went there for a work happy hour a year and a half ago and it was nothing special.

at one time they had MvC2 and an older tekken.

The really cool thing that they had was a Super Monkey ball 2 board stuck in a Astro city cab with a banana joystick.:buttrock:

Eclipse Records is likely the next destination for Thursday pinball on Oct. 9th. I don't know if he has any of the classic arcade games in place yet, but I know he had his supplier of games looking for them.
