x-arcade is PC compatible, but I wouldn't call it a really good quality joystick, but that's just because I don't like American made joysticks and switches as much. If I have heard correctly, PS3 just uses the "human interface device" standards, like the 360 and all PC's, so that should be OK on a PC too.

Or you could go DIY and build one, like I did. I built mine with parts from Seimitsu, the kind all SNK Candy cabs originally shipped with. Seimitsu joysticks really are a joy to use for shooters, they have a soft spring and a tiny deadzone. If you like fighters more I'd recommend Sanwa sticks, they have a little bigger dead zone and an octagonal gate, which makes moves easier, especially rotation moves. To make the electrical components I stole the PCB from a USB gamepad and wired the joystick and buttons up to that. It's very similar to what Byrdo does when he makes joysticks.

This isn't the right place to talk about PC sticks, but the sony sticks have a problem with windows, at least in my setup they do. The X360 hori sticks works fine and you can allways change the parts for better ones.

I hear alot of this seimitsu for shooters and although I have my MVS candy equipped with seimitsu it just doesn't feel as nice as sanwa for me, but then again is just a matter of prefference. I keep it seimitsu 'cause I want the original feel, but I might swap them for sanwa one of these days.

I'm using LS40 which is LS32 but with a pcb kind of like the JLF with harness and all. This 2 sticks perform identical, and yet I feel the dead zone is big. I however don't have that problem with JLF even though there's a dead zone as well, but is not as bad. I use sanwa on my tated candy and play cave, seibu, psyko and so on, however I have not played the LS32 on that, but I use it on the SNK candy with strikers 1945+ (The closest thing to a tated good shooter) and don't feel the advantage.

An Xarcade stick is shitty, but you can allways change the parts with Happs which is by far way better than anything else in the industry period, but everyone has their prefferences. The button layout however is dumb as fuck, so plug the 2 lower buttons for crapcom, or plug the top row and the lower right button for SNK.

You know what, I honestly believe that you'd be better of with the X360 EXstick, is plug and play and it has the candy layout where the buttons have a slight 15 degree angle which helps to use as a 6 button set up or a 4 button set up or even the 5 button set up. Man this japs are nuts, how do they come up with this shit!?

I mean that's a good stick to star with 'cause is very flexible for many different games, is cheap and it's reliable. Man I wish this stick was out when I used to play a ton with my computer and didn't have arcades, but then again perhpas it wouldn't have ignited the need to step it up the way I did.

I've also build my own sticks and it's cool too. Defenatley the way to go if you're ambitious enough, but my advice to you is to get familiar first with different thing so you can make a good solid plan to build your own.

BTW; welcome to the club boys.

I would stay away from 8 button setups, but to be frank the first stick I bulit was an 8 button. After time I learned that for me the best way to play a game is with the minimal required buttons.

I love an adore 3 button CP/sticks.
