Using the 4th Neo Geo button on a JAMMA supergun, or 6 buttons JAMMA games?

This topic is quite related to this one (that talks about what controllers to use in my sgun):

<a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=001788" target="_blank">http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=001788</a>

I have a JAMMA supergun with only 3 buttons and I have a MVS board 1FZ. I want to be able to use the fourth D button. I think I have no other choice but to attach another wire to the JAMMA harness, like what I've found
<a href="http://nickthfury.cjb.net/" target="_blank">http://nickthfury.cjb.net/</a>

Also what would happen if I tried a 6 button JAMMA games such as Street Fighter 2?

Any other help/info about this will be welcome.

In street fighter you'd only have working punch buttons. All the kicks come off of a seperate harness that attaches to the SF2 board. Theses wires run straight to the kick buttons on the Control Panel.

This same arrangement happens in A LOT of games. CPS1, CPS2, CPS3, STV, and basically any game with more than 3-4 buttons uses a specialized harness to add them.

I dunno about your supergun, but on mine there is a separate plug on the back where you attach a wire from the board straight into the back of the supergun. I have no games that use this yet, so I can't really tell you any more on how to do it...

Maybe your supergun has something like this?

Yes, you are right, I have that extra connectors on the back of the supergun.
Now I have to wire the extra 4th button to be able to use the D button in MVS games.

Well, what i did in my cab, i've double-wired the 4th button to the jamma connector and the extra connector for 4-5-6 button games.

Basically, there is 2 wires running from button 4. (it gets the ground wire from button 3). One of these wires runs to jamma button 4 (neogeo) and the other goes to a plug.

You can run those wires because 99.9% of the games don't use jamma button 4 together with buttons on the extra connector.

Yeah, my supergun already has button 4 wired for NG games. I was thinking about getting a Mortal Kombat board, or maybe a CPS1 board though, so I know I'll need to get the extra buttons wired into that connector sooner or later.

Yeah - the old 1 slots rule! I have joypad sockets on mine and am using an original Neo Geo stick! :D Still wouldn't mind finding a board with more slots that has controller ports though.

Too bad I fdon't have controller ports in my board... <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[Crying]" />

I think I have no other choice but to re-wire the D button. I hope I'll be able to do that with the info I've collected. Any other advice will be welcome.

I've been having a look at my sgun layout. The wires go from the controller ports to a small PCB (that is labeled with what does each connection do in the JAMMA standar), and from that PCB thicker wires go to the jamma connector where I put the games board.
Correct me if I'm wrong:
I have to connect with a wire the pin of the controller plug that will host the D button to the small PCB (25 for player1, c for player2 but I first I will only do player 1), and from there another one that goes to the JAMMA connector, in the same 25 place.
Is that OK?

Thanks for your help.
