MVS -> AES conversion question

Quick question:

All I've seen are expensive AES carts in most of my travels. So I got to thinking... what AES games are so plentiful, crappy and ill-regarded that they are cannibalized without hesitation for the base of an MVS conversion?

I have no intention on doing this, as I'd sooner just get a consolized single-slot with a Unibios... just curious.

Thx

Fatal Fury 3 is usually used because I think it supports the required chips for games like Garou or whatever.

Sadly, FF3 isn't so plentiful. Probably because the're kept being used for conversions.

Why the fuck don't people who want to play MVS games buy an MVS?

I've heard this too. I've also heard that the price of FF3 has been driven up because of its large-scale use as a sac cart.

And IIRC certain games can only be used to convert certain games; a Metal Slug 1 conversion is made from a Samurai Shodown/Spirits II cart, I believe.

(Anyway, conversions are the devil so I'm glad that the OP is just curious.)

It costs more to buy a Metal Slug conversion than it would to buy an adaptor and the MVS cart.

MVS is just so much better.

Just as I feared... nothing worse when another otherwise-common title which is unlucky enough to be the donor gets overfished, so to speak, and becomes rare itself... :(

In a perfect world, there would be a community effort to get would-be conversion makers to trade in their intended donor AES carts for an MVS adapter, no questions asked... like gun buyback programs in the inner cities :)

They should really find out a way to get bootleg AES PCB's, they're smart enough to get them for the MVS.

Then again, why do I care? I've got an MVS.

This is what is all about. OK yes most of us had teh console back in the day, but what were you dreaming off that you couldn't possibly have 'cause your parents couldn't let you or simply couldn't see spending that kind of money on you? Not the console my friends, you were dreaming of the arcade.

MVS is better 'cause it only shines as much as you polish it. The AES/NGH/whatever drama you wanna call it, has limits, but you can still do nice things with it, however it will never measure up to the flexibility of the MVS, it just can't, so at less you do not like arcades (which would be retarded if you own a home system) the AES is the way to go, other than that MVS is far superior everyday of teh week.

OK, I'm not saying I don't like the AES, I do, but just like the NGCD is just a novelty for me, however I do not own my AES anymore yet I still have a NGCD, you can call it my Neo JukeBox.

It's all about the experience and nothing beats playing on a cab with original hardware, nothing.

OK, the Last Hope team did this with the AES, made all their own PCB's, but since it's an original game I guess they can't call it a bootleg.

What part of your ass did you pull that from?

They had a bunch of (IIRC) kof2001 carts to sac, and the customer also had the option to send in their own sac cart.

There was no original part in the cart except for possibly the ROM as far as I know.

What the hell are you talking about? I don't even understand your post.

Last Hope isn't a bootleg, it's home brew that got a semi official release as far as I'm concerned. A home made cart with a homebrew game isnt a bootleg because it's not copying anything. Where as if I was to create a home made Metal Slug for example, that would be a bootleg.
