Question for AES collectors

I need to confirm something with all you crazy compulsive AES collectors out there.

Obviously (at least I think) all games with soft cases were sealed when they were newly released but for games in snaplock cases, it is different.

For Japan AES games in snaplock cases, I know for a fact that some were still sealed with the Neo Geo sticker (such as Quiz Chibi, Metal Slug 1) I have seen them so I can confirm that. But near the end of the console's lifetime, games in snaplock cases were not sealed even when they were sold new because SNK ran out of sealing stickers.

So my question is...

Is it the same for US AES games in snaplock cases? I know again for a fact that SOME if not ALL US AES snaplock games were sealed with the Neo sticker because I can confirm that Neo Turfmasters was sealed with the SNK sticker when it came out.

Would you expert collectors happen to know which US snaplock games were sealed with the Neo sticker when it came out? Specifically, I want to know if Metal Slug 1 and 2 had the seal?

Wish someone can put in their 2 cents on this matter. Many thanks in advance:)

Why care about the seal? It was hardly a seal worth mentioning. Just a sticker that could be removed and reset.

Are you German?

I bought Metal Slug 3 and SVC Chaos both new from the Neo Store. There was no seal on them.

No seal on KOF2001 and every Japanese release since then. Dunno about the releases before that.

I remember Last Blade (US) didn't have a seal when I bought it from SNK-USA back in early '99. I bought KoF'98 and MSX from them, too...IIRC the former had one, the latter didn't.

Doesn't seem like something to get worked up about, since SNK themselves didn't bother with it...

Mmm that seal really was a load of shit. Even games like SS2, second hand, you could reset the sticker and it appeared unopened again.

The thing about the sticker was, if you left it on, it would eventually fall off and leave this black gooey mess on your box. I never appreciated them.

Did anyone buy MS 1 and 2 US version when they were released? I have not known anyone who did.

Yes, both the box and warranty card / manual will have a machine print sticker with the Neo's serial number on it. I did come across some where the warranty card are stamped rather then stickered.

If they'd done that there would be twice as people obsessing over this nonsense. Play the games, be happy.

Someone post the pic of the roll of sealing stickers.

Like Wasabi said, these stickers are fairly useless due to the fact that they can be replaced or reset very easily.

Always makes me lol when I see those horribly overpriced auctions listed on ebay simply because they are "sealed".

Unless its an old common NOS game I wouldn't trust a description of a game being "sealed".

I think the biggest problem with buying a sealed game is that there is no way of verifying the contents. For laughs, someone should sell a sealed copy of Ultimate Eleven and put a copy of LOSJ inside.
