MVS to AES Conversions

Looking at this metal slug:

Besides the fact he describes it as a conversion, how can you tell.
Obviously it is missing the manual - but anything else?

Dodgy artwork sometimes, though to be honest you can't tell untill you open up the cart.

If you go over to the cart pics section on the left of your screen you can see what the cart and package should look like. If you compare the auction you showed with the picture given here then I notice one difference. The border on the official title is gray whereas in the auction it is black. I am not sure if there are other differences there or not but it was just a glance. This is a good resource to know because no one will be selling a legit Metal Slug 1 with a fake insert.

Like j_heiger said the border looks to be a different shade but this could also be due to the picture. Depending how the picture is taken those grey borders can show up as very dark or even black, it happens.

Things that give it away in the pic:
1) The font on the meg count is slightly different
2) Obviously the cart doesn't have the warning sticker

Things that would give it away in hand:
1) The paper stock for the insert is probably entirely different than the standard Neo Geo inserts.
2) Opening the game will quite easily give it away.

There are some others but those are AES trade secrets and should be kept that way. :P

I had a real dedicated conv. of metal slug.They made a custom manual which said it was a conversion and how you could tell it was.It actually did hava a warning sticker also.

Do you think as this doesnt have a warning sticker it may be a conversion?
