I have a cart that has this Betty Boop 2 label on it. Its serial number is 000028. I can't find any information on this. I am guessing that it is some sort of a NEO PRINT cart. Does anyone have any info on this? The pcbs inside contain NINJA MASTERS. I know that sometimes games are relabeled, but I was just curious what Betty Boop 2 is.

You could always re-relabel it as the Star-Wars Christmas Special, sticking random hiragana on either side, and sell it on Yahoo Japan as a Betamax cassette.

Not honest. But worth a laugh at least.

Imagine all the fun you'd have googling, "Star-Wars Christmas Special MVS".
Then you can register on said forum and claim it's the "Special" revision of "Star-Wars Christmas" akin to Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown V Special.

Right before the title "Betty Boop", it says:

ネオプリントマルチ対応カセット

neopurinto maruchi taiou kasetto

Neo Print Multi Paralell Cassette

It also says "Version 2" after the title.

So you were right, it's a Neo Print.

I've never seen this particular title, but Japanese love "character" merchandise like Hello Kitty, Disney etc. and Betty Boop was mildly popular back when the Neo Print machines were common.

Bingo. Even though I know squat about Neo Print it was the first thing that came to mind the minute I read thetitle of the thread.

What the heck is Neo Print???????

They were photo booths where you could have your picture taken, and then have multiple copies printed out on a small sheet of sticker paper.

You could choose different frames for the pictures, usually seasonal (Summer, Winter, Halloween etc.) or character oriented (Hello Kitty, Betty Boop etc.).

Sega, Atlus, and SNK made them. The SNK ones were based on the MVS system, and once you stuck your money in Athena would appear on your screen to guide you through the process.

My Neo-Geo home system used to be covered in ones that I took from an SNK machine, but I eventually peeled them all off.

Neoprint were a line of themed photo print booths that SNK manufactured. MVS carts stored the various background graphics for the photos.

EDIT: The ninja beat me to it.

you have to use a 2 slot neo print board for these like below. the cart only contains graphic chips and will not work by itself.

if anyone has one of these boards and wants to sell it let me know

last person to have that board on these boards was jonathan crossley....

I miss that guy, and sadly, I didn't have the cash he wanted for that board when he offered it to me.
