STAKES WINNER....HOW MUCH!!!

Hi Guys,

Was just having a look on ebay and come across the little beauty......but is it really worth an extra £500 above the highest guide price? I mean fair enough, you sometimes have to pay a bit extra for those hard to get hold of games, but £500!!

I sold mine last year for £500 and was happy with that. The seller must be getting confused with the guide currency, as they must think it is £900-£1100 sterling. That is the only explanation for such a high price.

Gook luck to the seller and I hope they get what they want for the game as it is quite rare, but those prices are crazy!!

rare? yes.
worth more than $50? one would have to be an idiot or ridiculously rich.

Nah, it is in the top 10 if not top 5 rarest english carts.

Yeah, maybe in the top five rarest games and you generally do pay more than the guide on occasion.....but £500 over the guide seems a little nuts to me.

I would personally pay only 10 dollars for such game, it sucks imho

I think is cool, but I wouldn't pay that much. Hell I haven't even bought Pop 'n' Bounce 'cause of the ridiculous price tag on it, I mean the game is meh, but is not that bad, yet is not worth the asking price imo.

Stakes Winner is quite an oddity, and almost certainly not worth thats seller's asking price unless there is a collector out there that is reeeally hard up for the game.. And that's hard to imagine... After all, this has the ugliest english insert in existence. In a world where it's all about how good you look on the shelf Stakes Winner does not pass go, does not collect $2000.

Lets all post our theories on just why the Stakes Winner insert is so god awful shall we? I'll start the first theory: Ben Herman did the design himself. Except it wasn't really even Ben Herman. It was Robo Ben Herman, the cybernetic organism who hates the beauty of continuity.

(ps- I have no idear wtf I'm talking about here)
