Help! This is going to kill me!

Hi Peeps,

Newbie here *no wait, don't leave me yet!* <img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" />

I'm going to buy a Neo-Geo system and I've literally spent days surfing on the net, trying to educate myself about the Neo-Geo. It's sooo confusing!

I've decided to go for the cab, for that real arcade feel! <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool]" /> But which one? Candy or Neo-Geo MVS? If Candy, which model? And if Neo-Geo MVS, again which model? New or used?

I'm an imbecile when it comes to electronics! If I have to solder, wire, clean, connect parts, etc. I bet I would <img src="graemlins/blowtop.gif" border="0" alt="[Blow Top]" /> . Is it really very difficult?

Also, do MVS carts have different language versions (like AES has Japanese and USA)? If yes, which is the better MVS version to buy for it to be unedited so that I get red blood?

All Neo Geo aracde machines use MVS boards, either 1,2,4,6 slot, and if you buy a U.S board, MVS games will display in English

Oh BTW, if you find a cabinet that's in good working order to begin with, you won't really have to worry about maintenence unless you abuse the machine. And changing out the games is just like changing out the games on a home system.

MVs carts are all the same, no matter what region (same as AES carts). The language you get depends on the MVS board you are using it on - for instance, a japanese cart on an English MVS will still give English language, and vice versa.

As for the blood and bouncy stuff, theres usually options to turn it on and off using the dipswitch menu... the only game I can think of where this isn't the case is KOF 2000 - for some reason, Mai's boobs never bounce on an English system... which is a damn shame (lol) <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" />
