My picture has a slight yellow tint to it; is there any way to fix/adjust this without having to buy a brand new moniter? Everything else is fine, just this annoying, yellow tint.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

turn the blue drive up, there are pots on the crt base pcb, sometimes on the main monitor pcb, depends on the model.
Its called grey scale adjustment.
If you dont know what your doing, get someone who does to adjust it !!!

Yellow = Pissed, what in the snow ? Haahahah :)

Excellent.

I was getting rather worried - the person I bought it from said "it was always like that" but it didn't look like burn in. When I checked the colors during testing I noticed everything was correct except for green; it was this lemon/lime/yellow green.

I've never adjusted that before, and it's also a converted cab, but I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow. Anything I should look for inparticular? Can I do this with the machine running? Or does that = death?

Thanks :)

as long as you don't lick any components, you should survive it.

Before doing anything, are you sure this is not a crt purity issue, is the discolouration uniform ??

In theory if the green emission is down, as you suggest, you should get a magenta or purple cast, not yellow.

Well, Waku Waku 7 and KOF '97 both have the same tint: Yellow. When I was checking the hardware test, blue looked like blue, red like red, white like white, but green looked like this yellow-ish green. The discoloration is uniform.

Probably a dying capacitor... If you can't get a decent color by adjusting the pots in the back, you may need a repair guy to put some new caps on the machine. As for the safety issue, never grab the harness or anything metal and shiny back there :) Adjusting the pots is safe, just don't get forgetful and grab the metal harness for support (I've made that mistake before, it is kind of cool when your arm jiggles though....) :) I bet it is a cap though, and that is not safe to replace on your own unless you know what you are doing. Best of luck,
