Listening, but not heading, to earlier advise I got ram-rodded from Rinkya.com.

Well, there's a couple boards I'd like to get from Yahoo auctions and wanted to put the feelers out to see who, if anyone, would be interested in group buying.

PCBs for me mostly. I'm mulling over a few options but I am thinking of grabbing a handful of 'whatevers cheap' MVS carts as well.

I would be down for posters and art sets, which wouldn't add much to shipping.

Sure, I'm not sure how a group buy of auctions would work, so feel free to PM me details, but I could probably find a few items to add to the order.

hey yo count me in too. You can get some pretty dang good deal on Yahoo Jp. I've only had the chance to order on there once, and that was because there was someone in Japan that was willing to ship to me.

If we can get something going, i'd like to order some naomi carts~!

I'd be interested in some MVS carts. Don't really care what carts. Just as long as they're cheap.

Probably not a good idea for anyone outside of the US. You'll have to pay shipping from Japan to the US, then from the US to ______. The sweet deals won't be so sweet.

You know what I never even thought about that, yeah I guess this thread will only apply to US heads.

Aww oh well. Back to using that Japan import site that allows you to bid on anything you want on Yahoo JP Auctions.

I could use one of those silly AC adapters for the Neo Geo CD system. It's the one with the funny 3pin connector on it.

musclesmarinara, what are you looking for on NAOMI? I have a NAOMI 1 unit (just the main board) that's up for sale.

Also a bad idea to grab anything under ~1500Y.

Something as cheap as 500Y (~$4) can end up costing close to $50 once it gets to you.

Just so the uinformed understand....buying from YHJ is not the greatest deals ever most times...heres why"

1.Money for item
2.Internal shipping for the item to youre 3rd party purchaser
3.Fees charged by 3rd party
4.Shipping from Japan to the USA to 3rd Party Supplier
5.In Country shipping to you..

*Generally speaking when I purchase somethign via YHJ....if it cost 5000yen i asssume it will cost me almost double that all said and done so a $50 item costs you $100..this is all in general btw...it fluctuates a lil based on the value of the yen or the dollar

This is very true. I think we should do "local" Yahoo group buys so we don't have to keep adding shipping costs. Perhaps a few central spots for group buys are in order?

I have a private proxy if anyone wants to use it. I know I don't have a huge post count here, but I shit golden eggs on the other boards I frequent (my site - gamengai, shmups, etc.). I can help w/ a group order, but just like the other guys, the commission and fees are tacked on per incoming transaction. 10 PCBs in one shot from one seller = 1 transaction. 10 PCBs in 10 shots from 10 sellers = 10 transactions.

That seems a bit high... unless of course you're buying a single $50 item and having it shipped to you. For a decent sized PCB, I would think something like

$48-ish for the item
$12 for comission
$8 for internal shipping
$2 for money transfer

That's $70 before you have it shipped overseas. If you're having single items sent, then yes, it's ridiculous. If you wait and get like 3-4 items, the overseas shipping only goes up marginally.

I like golden eggs!...ok in all seriousness this could be a nice thing to do. I know some folks that I've dealth with before that vouch for you, so your post count wouldn't be a problem at all with me if that counts for something. I honestly wouldn't even know where to start with a yjp order, but I've been lurking around and there some items I would defenately be interested in.

I think we need a yjp for dummies, well, ok maybe I need one.

Tychom's site is very informative. If you can come up w/ the kana of the items you're interested in, I have a feature that will do all the searching for you (daily) and email you the results. I can't handle a huge influx of new users but I can handle a steady increase.

One other feature I've got that's now hidden from non-members (bandwidth issues) is a translator for popular systems. It's a complete ass whore since it's literally a full list for each system, w/ the names translated. Amongst the list are Famicom, Super Famicom, PC-Engine, Mega Drive, Neo Geo, Dreamast, Saturn, and Playstation. Working on PS2, but the project has been on and off for like 3 years now... no shit. Currently off. :(
