Donate PCBs to emulation - do you get them back?

Stupid question, perhaps: If you donate your PCB to emulation do you get it back afterwards (both hardware and software are undumped)? I remember one phoney back in the day who would take the pcbs and resell them, so I imagine PCBs aren't destroyed in the process - else the guy wasn't dumping all the boards he received.

yeah asking for a donation back is generally considered bad form.

I think a bunch of cats on shmups pooled together for a Ketsui to donate to some rom dumper dude. He was basically like this game sucks I'll put it in the pile and afaik still hasn't gotten around to dumping it.

Reselling the board wouldn't make someone a "phoney," unless they actually didn't dump the roms, since the board is theirs to do what they want with.

68k: Dick. :p ;)

My take was: donating ROMs and "donating" a PCB are two sepparate issues, I suppose.

If they want to dump a PCB, they can buy it themselves.

If I had a PCB that was particularly rare, a prototype or just hard to find.... I would be all about *lending* it to be dumped for preservations sake and so other could enjoy it.... but not if it meant never getting that *rare* PCB back. I always wondered the same thing about that though.

Drop Razoola a line to ask what became of the cps 2 boards he got from people for his cps 2 research.
