Hi Everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a Memory Card for my Neo Geo AES System. I own a Japanese Neo Geo AES.

Does that mean that I need to buy a Japanese AES memory card or will any AES memory card do? I am not sure if there is any Region Protection on the memory cards.

Will the memory card management screen on a Japanese Neo Geo AES be in Japanese or in English? If I buy a non-Japanese AES Memory Card will that change the memory card management screen to English.

Hopefully someone has had to deal with this issue as well. Thanks.

I don't even think they made two different versions, just maybe two different outer packages. In other words, no, any memory card should work in any system.

The one place you might run into trouble is if you saved a game on a Jap region machine and then tried to load that same game on a US region machine (or vice versa). But since I've never done that I don't know if region info is saved with the game. Just seems like its the one place a problem might arise.

There is no protection, just like there's no protection on the carts, controllers etc etc.

The only difference between each Neo is it's bios. The region of the Bios determines the region you recieve. Minor things like 60/50hz ntsc/pal i dont know about but that really doesnt matter.

Nope. No problems with that either. The save data is the same, regardless of the region.
