Name that arcade game?

Okay, I played this game about 6-8 years ago, and it was in like every arcade, even bowling alleys had it. However bear with me here, as it was 8 years ago, that's a long time!

Okay, so here's the skinny, I loved this game as a kid, and it was everywhere for me to enjoy, it was sit-down type of game, with player one and two separated by a little wall. It was like, a mech/robot figher, where you piloted your guy with two joysticks (the fighter pilot kind, all the buttons were on them if I remember correctly), and you flew around and shot stuff, very cool. The only character I remember is the pink one, it shot like hearts and stuff.

Sadly, it's all I remember of this game, but I loved it so much, so if anyone has a vague hint of what it might be, please share. Thanks for the help guys!

Virtual On at the arcades was some mad shit. Those sticks rock.

I used to play Virtual On any chance I got at the arcades was an awesome game!

Yeah man, hopefully I can get that one on the dreamcast, and get a good deal on some sticks for it.
