Does a CPS2 Kick Harness use common ground?

Or does it have it's own?

I noticed on a diagram of it it had a 'kick-ground', but does that ground run back to the common ground on the board? Or do I have to actually run 4 wires to the harness (k1, k2, k3, ground)?

On my supergun, I used a 25 pin D cable, so I only had space for 2 grounds, one for each player, since I also needed start for each player and a coin button. No problems what so ever, ground is ground.

Which is what I figured. I mean, usually a button is held high and registered as 'pressed' when it's grounded. I should be able to lick the wire and have it 'ground'.

But I wanted to ask before I started soldering my supergun! ha ha.

Thanks.

Ground is Ground

Your not drawing amps so 1 line will do.

If you have a meter, and you measure over 5 ohms of resistance on a ground line, then you might have a problem, but for this stuff, anything pretty much works.

You actually use 25 pins or is that for both players combined?

Uh, am I doing something wrong? Out of all the wires coming out of the kick harness I'm probably using a total of 12, if not less? :conf:

Sounds like you have the 4 player harness. The kick harness only has like 7 wires.

Some third party harnesses are fully wired...

I used to have one.

Of course don't forget the Sound controls and shit.

Mine has 6.

I'm using USB connectors to connect kick harnesses to my supergun controllers and I have exactly 6 wires (violet, grey, white, orange, blue, green) First 3 are Player 1, Second 3 are Player 2.
