It's legit, that's not his foot. It's the knot in the rope that circles the fighting area. You can see his foot peaking out of the left side of it.

Yeah I think it was just the combination of the screen curving + one foot being closer to the screen than the other in the sprite. Still a strange boot tho. I can't believe none of the WW boots have been emulated yet. :conf:

Might as well come out and say its a boot with it being in a blue shell and it being phoenixed. I should email the high bidder.

touche. also, im going to outbid the guy for the hsf2. After all, a phoenixed game doesn't make it a boot.

I've always had a suspicion that the seller of that board is Japhei. Anyone know anything about him?

No the fact that its phoenixed and its in a blue shell seeing how it was released in only green and the all in one format most likely does make it a boot

no kidding man, I though the exact same thing.

Even the sort of things he is listing are similar; misc. shooter and capcom PCBs and artwork.....then.... right when he gets some positive feedback the high(er) dollar items start to come out...

Dudes like Japhei dont just "disappear" it seems...!

well idk about the whole japhei thing, but I was under the impression there were blue hsf2's. see: devilredeemed's hsf2 post

It is unknown according to CPS2shock if there are any legit blues, but I doubt it very much. There are known green and grey boards though.

On second thought I think I'll pass. If it's phoenixed, how hard could it be to take pics of the inside? Just kinda looks like they threw it on there, so much for that.

I've been looking for a HSF2 for the longest time, but I do need it phoenixed. Shame that nothing good has turned up. :(

yup, what bullshit too.... that comes out to 371 USD roughly for a bootlegged Progear. Someone should actually report this clown to Ebay. I love how it even says 2 available in the listing.

OK somebody inform me here. How can you tell its a bootleg? Granted with the HSF2 you could *theoretically* tell it was a boot because A) it was phoenixed and B) it had a blue cover and it's unknown whether or not there were any legit blues. But the progear (which I haven't played personally), how can you tell? Don't you need to see the inside of the board to tell?

its really only an educated guess, youre right though.... without seeing the insides you cannot be certain but I think everything is pretty clear....

The fact that he has 2 copies of a high end game that the average collector would only be able to find/afford one copy of is a strong clue towards its a boot. Then its phoenixed and has a repo label. I did not design the hardware but I know how to come by it and I have have piles of cps 2 boards and I can tell you from experience legit progears do not fall from the sky, I have only own one of them.

Here comes the boots, everyone and their mother could built boot cps 2 boards now days. I could built 20 boot progears if I was shady. Luckily when you pop the hood on a progear a boot is dirt easy to spot even if otp roms are used.

Wow, that SF2 cab was downright ugly...boot or not. Chopped marquee and a CP that is way too small for a 2P 6 button layout.
