Super MVS Convertor II - Best solution for an AES console owner?

Hey guys,

I'm fairly new to the whole Neo Geo scene and I'm just trying to figure out what my best options are. I recently purchased a fully modded Neo Geo system, and I've seen how the MVS carts are way cheaper than the AES ones. I know some people are purists 'n all, but I'm happy to buy some shock boxes and print out labels for the MVS carts if it saves me hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars in the long run. :P

Anyway, my question is about the Super MVS Convertor II. Is this what you would all recommend I use to play MVS carts on my system or is there a better alternative coming out sometime soon? It definitely seems like it's better than the Phantom from what I've seen.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Welcome to the hobby.
The Super MVS Converter II is the way to go.
I personally wouldn't consider a Phantom-1 as I've had nothing but negative experiences with it.

Get an MVS system! it's like generic food. Same shit but cheaper.

Thanks for the advice. The Super MVS Converter II seems more sturdy from what I've seen at the very least, so I'm probably gonna go with that one.

Heheh, well I wasn't interested in an MVS system because I actually did want the sleek looking Neo Geo AES console itself. I already purchased one with all the mods 'n what not, so now it's just a matter of getting the converter to play all the MVS carts on it.

I have an original Red LED model and I have no regrets. It's not perfect, but it's as close as you can get without buying a MVS/CMVS.

For the price of a Super MVS Converter II you could probably obtain a CMVS, get the best of both worlds. I have a NGH and a 4 slot CMVS and have no regrets, don't have the space for a cab.

I have the blue LED super mvs 2 and it's very good. I have a European PAL console (serial about 60000), and it works fine with every legit cart i have(ms1,2,X,3,kof2003,aerofighters 2). Some people on this forum have problems with titles like metal slug x- maybe some specific games have problems with the super mvs 2 and US or Jap consoles, or consoles with later serial numbers.
Don't know that any new revision would be coming out soon.. There is a website for the company that make it (neo team)-

I've got one of the blue led ones and am using it on a jp system. I've had no problems with any game as of yet.
