Okay as silly of a topic as it may be, it is still something that I'm curious about.

All my standard heavy ass made of wood western style cabs are kind of a pain in the rear to get into unless you come in from the back. Some even then are not soo friendly, like my big red for example.
So if I want to change out my cart I have to open the coin door, reach in and unlatch the cp and then go in through there to get to the carts. I can change the front too from the coin door but can't get to the back ones and if there are other carts in they all have to come out to do it that way.

So my next nice cab I get I want to set up another neo geo but I want to pick out a cabinet that I can change the carts in real easy. I think I'll just load a few of my favorite games in the big red and use another machine to pop in stuff that I get desire to play for a while.

I've never got my hands on any of those sit down cabinets so I don't know how easy it is to get into them and where the boards rest. Anyone got any suggestions on what style cabinet would be good for fast swapping carts?

My experience with the Sega New Astro was quite pleasant. There is the hardware access door which is fairly big and opens up a huge amount of space for pcb's, I was able to fit a CPS2 setup and my Neo in there without a problem.

For access the sit down cabs are damn good. Just one door and everything is right in your face.

Most candy cabs are like this. Some are better than others for space just depends.
The Neo Candy cabs, the newer ones, seem to have a wealth of space as well.

My 4 Slot Big Red is easy to get into flip the latches.(but I never change the games in it.

2 Slot Woody Neo Gold is also easy to get into flip the latches..has a ton of room in it with the big back panel off...I really think I may be able to fit inside this machine..

2 Slot Bug Red is a Pain In The Ass to open-get to the latches as the 2 slot board is pushed up against the front of the machine for the on board memory card reader..The wood makes it hard to reach the latches..I have to sit on the floor ,on my ass up against the machine..and reach up to the latches-queering my arms into place...This cab I change the games the most..

Neo Candy Cab(in Sig) MVS 25 U4 is a BREEZE to change games..take off the front panel via lock and your in....The wood on my Candy cab actually slides out to change the games if you don't feel like reaching in..You can even leave off the front door,,

This is the cab I've used for changing multiple boards...

..
I just don't know if a 6 slot will fit in it...I have had a Hyper 64.CPS2,Taito F3,ST-V in it though..Currently I have the smaller type 4 slot board in it..

Well sure it is not hard to open up the coin door, reach in, flip two latches and lay the cp down, and then go in through the cp opening and change out games, but still it is a few more steps than I want to take if I am going to be changing carts often.

So it looks like the sitdown cabs are the way to go for quick and easy access. If thats the case then I could just snag one and pop in a one slot board. So for the ease of access is there any kind of trade off there, other than they are harder to get ahold of. How are finding parts for those? Do they take the same kind of monitors as the standup wooden cabs?

if you're that lazy, get a supergun.

Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I can tell by your response you don't have any children who want to play your video games.

It's not about being lazy it is about being more easy to do.

Being lazy would be something like popping in a fourm and then rather than share some kind of input share something like .....

if you're that lazy, get a supergun.

No no, I only jest, but seriously, Billy Madison was a pretty funny movie.

i hate changing games in my big red.

i just physically cant get my arm in there without some kind of fucking contortionist act. im not a short guy, nor are my arms fat.

i almost never play my neo because i hate changing games.

japanese cabinets are great. big door right in the front, perfect for changing games.

but on the other hand, like my new astro, the back door is sooooo tiny and useless. its only like 4 inches tall right over the monitor.

the only way to get inside the back corner is to take the monitor out. most people wouldnt need to go back there, but i mounted the sound amp and some other stuff back there.
