This may sound kind of strange, but I think that it is a good idea, considering we recently have incorporated a wiki into our website, maybe a blog would be nice as well, it could very well be the new front page even.

So what would it contain?

Well, obviously it would be anything SNK/Neo-Geo/etc that is new or exciting, but it could also cover many aspects of retro gaming (as that seems to be more of the direction we are taking as NG activity slows down). It could be again, news or just anything interesting that pops up like fun mods, leaked old demos, or anything of the like.

One issue that would come up is, who could write for it and who is going to proofread the mess?

My though is that any member (maybe after 100 posts or so) would be able to write an article, then a few friendly volunteers would proof read and if it was deemed interesting enough it could be posted.

In addition it may be worth while to involve other message boards in this project, to make it more than just Neo-Geo.com. Maybe other boards such as shoryuken, that share some similar interests.

I know that there are gaming blogs already, but my thought is this would be more focused, on the niche, instead of the big stuff. Instead of Fallout 3 it'd be Fatal Fury.

just a thought.

It could work, though I am mnot sure if there is enough to write about.. I could set up and host a blog if others were to write some articles.

As noted in my signature, TOKYOPOP has a blog system, as does ComicBloc's forum with a seperate sub-forum to indicate when people have written new entries to their blogs. It could work here but then again there are plenty of places to go a-bloggin ;)

Yeah, I think lack of content would be the main reason blogging would fall short here.
