House Of The Dead: Ex???

Just saw this online today and, as a huge fan of all 4 installments, I'm extremely disappointed. It looks like not even a game as serious(well...) and violent as House of the Dead could avoid the bubbly anime craze sweeping Japan...It's supposed to be nothing but minigames and a slot machine (wtf?), so maybe this is just a fun little experiment and the series will pick back up with the next installment (like Typing)? If so, I may forgive them...as long as it's bloody. The screenshots, despite the bubbly advertising, still have grotesque monsters so we might be seeing some fun gore. It still makes me sad that HOTD is gonna be taken as a joke after people see this...Although Typing of the Dead was pretty lame..It should be a blast on the Wii though.

Honestly, I like the look of it. Sure, it's a little upbeat looking for a HOTD game, but the artistic style looks fun and vibrant enough to inject some life and character into the somewhat stale HOTD formula.

Besides, if nothing else, it makes me more comfortable seeing Sega show the nerve to do something new with the series rather than be content to simply tread water.

They pretty much get new makeovers each HOTD.

4 is completely different from 3 and 3 is completely different from 2.

Only 1 and 2 play like the same.

They should make a game based on the movie.
