After paraousing about on Ebay, the best price I could find was $250 for a 2-slot cabinet with Samurai Showdown 2, and I have to go pick it up. Is this a good deal, and do two game carts come with/ have an easy time installing memory card bays. They seem almost essential, and I don't want to be left out in the cold without one.

If I found one close to me for that price, I'd buy it, and I don't even have a place to put it. Of course it depends on condition, etc. See if you can check it in person out before you commit to buying.

You'll have to ask the seller about how many carts come with it. I can't help you with the memory card reader info but I also haven't really felt any need for it. My 2-slot has the reader built-in but I've just never really seen the point in buying a memory card.

So it's a great deal then. I was just a little skeptical, it looks to be in good condition, so I think I might get it, barring my mom is convinced to drive me out there. The location of the cabinet is 59 miles away, so I really wanna make sure before I spend almost 50 more dollars on my moms gas(she makes me buy gas on big trips :/). Thanks for the advice by the way!

Well, I guess if you're buying the gas, then isn't it really your gas and not your mom's? I saw that cab on ebay and I'd get it if I were you. It looks like it just needs new buttons to be perfect.

Yeah, it looks pretty good. Okay, thanks for the advice everyone, it's now convincing time!

EDIT: It seems it's a one slot, should I still get it? How hard would it be to get a four-slot board in there. If their are all jamma it shouldn't be a problem, but I think the change game button might prove to trouble to add.

I live near pasadena also, Well, aside from the select game button, aren't the boards different sizes, and also...You might need another PSU.

Cool! I live in south pasadena to be specific, but could you elaborate please? Is it going to be hard? I'm kind of tech savvy, and I have a ton of time on my hands, but depending on difficulty, I might have to look elsewhere for a cabinet better suited to what I'm looking for.
EDIT: The guy said it used to have a four slot board, but he sold that and put a one slot in. Does that mean all that extra work doesn't need to be done?

It at least means the power supply shouldn't have to be changed. If he didn't change any wiring when he switched to the 1-slot, switching back should be plug-and-play. However, if he rewired for the speaker connections (multislot has stereo on the edge connector, 1-slots don't) and the cabinet actually has two speakers, you'll probably want to change some stuff around. It shouldn't be a big deal.

Sorry to post this in your thread about the MVS you are trying to get Spazmonkey. I just snagged my first NEO GEO today! A MVS-6-25 with these games:

King of Fighters 2k3
SVC Chaos
Bust-a-Move
Metal Slug
Samurai Showdown
Aero Fighters 3
Sengoku 3

I got it for $400 from a former Putt-Putt about 4 miles from my house. It's been there since it was purchased by Putt-Putt in 1992. Other than a little tlc on the cpo it's in great shape.

Good luck getting yours! I can't wait to go back home and start playing mine!

Cheers,
David

When my mom drives me. The guy is 60 miles away, so I'm waiting until I have a blank day.
