I thought I would share with you guys my latest project. I had purchased a cab for 50bucks with a busted monitor and a fried board. Several ideas crossed my mind with what I wanted to do with the empty cab. I finally decided to put a dreamcast in it. Considering it's probably as close as I would be able to get to owning MVC2 or Powerstone, SF3, etc. Plus many great games came out for this system so I can enjoy it in a arcade sorta way. I am running a dreamcast system hooked up VGA to an 21inch PC monitor, I hand built the control panel and am using Sanwa Joys. The joysticks are hooked up to modded DC controllers. here are few in-progress pics. since these were taken, I have gotten everything working I need to complete the Bezel and bring it to my apartment.

Nice start! I have a generic setup for my Candy Cab, but I want to give my Dreamcast a permanent home in it's own cab.

Looking forward in seeing the final product.

I don't typically like the "Do-it-yourself" style cabs, but that thing looks awesome! I love how you have the orange and white Dreamcast colors going on. The end result should look fantastic! Keep us posted.

Looking great. My suggestion is to use Green buttons and ball top for your control setup. You know for that Hori controller look.

actually I do, it's got a Trojan Overlay on it that I have been having a hard time getting off. You can still see the Missile Command overlay underneath. Ill shoot some pics of it tonight if your interested.

thatd be awesome.

my missile command is a neogeo right now. and its one of my favorite cabs even though its got the smallest screen. 2 player isnt any worse than your typical cab since its just as wide, but 1 player is perfect. theres just something about it, it really reminds me of being in an arcade trying to get to that next level in pulstar.

its a shelf mount horizontal cabinet.

a vert 19" wont even fit. youd need a 13"

as for the bezel, i used one of those plastic ones from happ, it fits perfect. i can take some pictures if you need.

ive also got the original missile command one somewhere. i could dig it out and take measurements. its cardboard, folded at the corners.

edit: i just realized youre using a pc monitor. i think open frame vga monitors have come way down in price, especially a 19".

would you sell the control panel? send me a pm.
