Mortal Kombat T-Unit Sound Board

Hi folks,


I recently bought a Mortal Kombat T-Unit pcb without the sound board and now i finally found a sound board to complete the game.


My doubts are:


Y-Unit and T-Unit Mortal Kombat pcbs uses the same type of sound board?


The MK sound board showed below will work on a T-Unit Mortal Kombat pcb?

Midway T-unit and Y-unit sound boards are interchangeable. I have done this a number of times. I'm pretty sure the rom data is the same as well.

The pcb on the left of your pic is a DCS sound board which is from Mortal Kombat II. The one on the right is found on all the other Y-unit, T-unit games mk, nba jam ... etc. It will require the power cable and sound pot.

But now i have some doubts about the power cable required by both versions of MK.


I heard that Y-Unit power cable is not compatible with the T-Unit version, i would like to have confirmation about this.


The Y-Unit power cable for the sound board will also work on the T-Unit version?


If not, than the power cable from MK 2 will also work on the T-Unit MK sound board?

The pinout is definitely a little different on the Y,T-unit versions. I'm not exactly sure how much off the top of my head. It's the mainboard thats different, not sound board. The MKII cable looks totally different though.

You would have to look at the manual pinouts to see.
