Does anyone know what the value of Pulstar is now? I haven't seen one for sale in a while.

The AES price guide is close. Are looking for one? Let me know via private message I may have one to sell.
Edit: I just took another look at the AES price guide, actually it's running a little high on that cart. And on some carts the AES price guide is a little low so go figure.

If I were you, I would choose Blazing star( if you don't have it).

Pulstar is overrated IMO. I like Blazing Star more. Both are good games but not quite worth the book value.

IMHO Pulstar is the much better, more challenging, and longer lasting game with more involved play mechanics. Check out the excellent review at Garg's temple. Not saying this because I have an extra. I bet chutsell is asking because he has one to sell.

Laserblast I was wondering how much you'd sell your extra Pulstar for? And is it in Mint condition. Please email me

Pulstar is overrated ......
I have CD version and rarely play it.
I'd rather play R-Type Delta on PS.

Gotta disagree big guy. I don't know much about MVS or fighting games or KOF or computers or HTML or Jamma boards ect, ect, ect..... But I KNOW shooters! Have you finished Pulstar? The depth and challenge of that game makes it one of the best shooters ever. I totally agree with the review at Garg's Temple. I will give a quick example. On level 2 you have a powerup (field thunder?) that creates a shield if you press fire repeatedly with some rythym. You need it to avoid getting hit by all the small fry. But it is too weak to use against the larger enemies like the Cave Crabs. So you go through the level dodging, powering up your shield, and holding the fire button down for powershots to use against the larger enemies that have to be destroyed quickly to clear a path. Complex gameplay from start to finish. People who think Pulstar is too hard have not gotten into the strategy needed to clear a level. You cannot just blast away like Blazing Star(which I like in a different way). I have been playing shooters since Space Invaders at the arcade and Pulstar is simply one of the best ever made. It's okay to say you don't like it personally, or to say it's too hard for you, but I respectfully disagree with any one who says it's overated.

Well then youd be wrong. j/k

I owned pulstar before & it was good.
The problem with mine was it was a neocdrom.
That loading was a pain.
Once you've memorized a level it doesnt matter.

But as you die/respawn while you are attempting to learn/memorize the pattern,
well lets just say its irritating enough to
break the concentration.
Id rather play r-type anyday as a result.

Now im sure its different on a mvs, but I never owned that.
I can only go by my experience, & the Cdrom version of pulstar is an "over rated" experience.

My Goodness, Laserblast
I'm very picky about shooters. I have a lot too but I don't like to memorize the pattern or so. All I like is to blast those enemies and kill them all. Maybe that's the reason I can't finish Thunderforce 3-5, R-type, Pulstar, Last resort.....etc....:<

But I can finish Ray Crisis 1-3, Aeroblaster, Raiden and Axeley though......

Lee at Garg's temple says it better than I. Pulstar is the keeper of the flame for old school shooters. Now stop busting my balls guys.

That's all cool Silent!
Pulstar is a different kind of shooter than Blazing Star. Some like the twitch blasters, and some like the tough strategic shooters, and some like them both! Pulstar is not for everyone but it is the cream of the crop.

I'm a shooter fan and I will hopefully have both Pulstar and Blazing Star in my possession in the future. I just don't need them too badly right now as compared to Metal Slug X and 3 and MotW. They'll just have to wait

Silent_Scope, the R-Type Delta is an excellent shooter IMO. I love the graphics and gameplay. I also like Einhander. But I'm anxious to try out Pulstar for the technical aspect.

Einhender is an awesome shooter.
You can still find a copy at KBToys. At least I saw several copies from three different stores last week.

To help the loading, I turn off the visual option. These cinemas take another 18 seconds on top of the normal 18 (CDZ).

The checkpoint system CAN get a bit aggravating at times. In some levels, you are really SOL if you die (just like R-Type).

I've not really played Pulstar lately- I've been jamming on Gradius IV at the moment.

As for R-Type, I'd like to see an R-Type Delta II on PS2- but I've heard somewhere that Irem is apparently finished with the series.
