Gotta disagree big guy. I don't know much about MVS or fighting games or KOF or computers or HTML or Jamma boards ect, ect, ect..... But I KNOW shooters! Have you finished Pulstar? The depth and challenge of that game makes it one of the best shooters ever. I totally agree with the review at Garg's Temple. I will give a quick example. On level 2 you have a powerup (field thunder?) that creates a shield if you press fire repeatedly with some rythym. You need it to avoid getting hit by all the small fry. But it is too weak to use against the larger enemies like the Cave Crabs. So you go through the level dodging, powering up your shield, and holding the fire button down for powershots to use against the larger enemies that have to be destroyed quickly to clear a path. Complex gameplay from start to finish. People who think Pulstar is too hard have not gotten into the strategy needed to clear a level. You cannot just blast away like Blazing Star(which I like in a different way). I have been playing shooters since Space Invaders at the arcade and Pulstar is simply one of the best ever made. It's okay to say you don't like it personally, or to say it's too hard for you, but I respectfully disagree with any one who says it's overated.Originally posted by Silent_Scope:

I have CD version and rarely play it.
I'd rather play R-Type Delta on PS.</STRONG>

I owned pulstar before & it was good.
The problem with mine was it was a neocdrom.
That loading was a pain.
Once you've memorized a level it doesnt matter.
But as you die/respawn while you are attempting to learn/memorize the pattern,
well lets just say its irritating enough to
break the concentration.
Id rather play r-type anyday as a result.
Now im sure its different on a mvs, but I never owned that.
I can only go by my experience, & the Cdrom version of pulstar is an "over rated" experience.</STRONG>

I'm very picky about shooters. I have a lot too but I don't like to memorize the pattern or so. All I like is to blast those enemies and kill them all. Maybe that's the reason I can't finish Thunderforce 3-5, R-type, Pulstar, Last resort.....etc....:<
But I can finish Ray Crisis 1-3, Aeroblaster, Raiden and Axeley though...... <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"></STRONG>

I turn off the visual option.
