BAH! Blasphemy! Part 1 is the best, followed by 2. Three is crap minus it's combo system. :lolz:

Lies I tell ya!? Sengoku 1 & 2 are great, but they don't feel like brawlers they feel like something else, kind of like King of Dragons, Magic Sword and all that jazz. They're more one hit kill brawlers with no combos whatsoever. 3 in the other hand works like a brawler, feels like a brawler and plays like a brawler and an excellent brawler at that.

I enjoy the whole series but 3 is vastly different from 1 and 2. Part 2 is probably my favorite and currently in one of my 4-slots. The end of the fist stage where you jump on the dragons back is awesome, the dragon can also be seen in the background throughout the first level. Highly recommend it if you can find it.

People probably find 3 crap because it isn't really Sengoku anymore. It doesn't have the plane switching to the heavens, the interchangable spirits and the typical sounds of gods. S1 and S2 were extremely atmospheric. But as brawlers, I thought they fell apart. Animations were stiff.. deaths were cheap, it were indeed some kind of one hit brawlers such as Ninja Combat.

S3 is a true brawler, more like a weapons based SoR with much more moves and stronger enemies. Yet the game is easier than its prequels, due to the SoR like mechanics.

S3 totally rocks my boat. Its characters and animations are fantastic for a brawler; probably the best in any? Music is tight too. Gameplay is responsive, combosystem is nice.

You don't see Sen 3 for sale much because nobody wants to get off their copies. I know I won't! Sen 2 pops up on ebay more often then 3.

I just have to get on board for the Sengoku 3 love that's going on. The entire Sengoku series is great. Sengoku was the game that gold me sold on the Neo after all. However, like everyone else has stated, the very fleshed out play mechanics S3 features, such as the combo system, specials, and playable bosses, really make Sengoku 3 shine.

Also, S3 is quite long for a brawler with plenty of stage variety.

Though Sengoku 3 is hard to find a few kits pop up on eBay every few months it seems. Track yourself down a copy, you won't regret it.

Sorry people even though this is the neo boards and I been here for a while and collect mvs I still out the loop on price and availability. I knew sengoku 2 was rare but your telling me part 3 kits are getting hard to come by. How much is my kit worth?

On to topic, I don't like part 1 or 2 their both so boring. Its like playing a even slower version of dynasty wars. Sengoku 3 however is fun fast paced eye candy. I think the engine is based on Gaia Crusaders.

edit

according to arcade shock a sengoku 3 kit is worth $155

That's probably pretty close. I was thinking 120 for the kit. I'm glad I snagged one up when I did for less then 1/2 that.

weren't they just giving sengoku 3 kits away a few years ago? I think I got mine for like 60 bucks. ROTD's were like 35 dollars in the neostore.

2 is fucking cool.

But I like 3 as well.

Just different games. Sengoku 3 should have been named something else.

Yaton had a ton of kits (probably less then 20 kits total) for 60$ a few years back (give or take a year). Since then there have been slim pickings for Sen 3 loose carts or kits.

I remember when Shawn could'nt get rid of his stock of Sengoku 3 AES carts, everyone was saying it was crap and the price was lowered all the way to about $130 just to get rid of them. Now that's it not available people are saying it's great, make your minds up. ;)

I only played the rom recently and think it's pretty cool despite it obvious flaws. Nice animation, characters and fighting system, crappy enemies. I sure would have bought it back then had I known how fun it is to play.

I thought Senguko was terrible to play despite the cool atmosphere and Sengoku was alot better but still very limited. I think Sengoku 3 is the best scrolling fighter on the Neo by a huge margin but there's fuck all competition tbh.

2 is Amazing, 3 is good at first but gets repetitive, 1 is outdone by 2.

Definitely worth getting 2 and 3 though.
