Hey guys and gals,

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the Japanese release of MOTW and the US Fatal Fury one? The reviewer here said to avoid getting the Agetech US release for fear that it would be underpar like LB2... On that note, can anyone tell me if LB2 for DC is a faithful port? Thanks to anyone reading this and for keeping the Neo Spirit kickin.

Blessings,

-G

Jesus! I think both US ports are decent enough if you can't afford nor want to bother getting the real thing. The JP are just as good I don't see any major differences except for the blood on the LB2 for the JP users.

If you are thinking about importing, I believe you'll be better off with the PS2 jp ports of both games. I love the DC, but the MOTW for PS2 is so damn good! 5.1 remix! Also the LB collection for the PS2 is quite nice, but a lot of people could disagree.

Thanks for the info... I sometimes wish I had a PS2, never got on the bandwagon though. Trust me, I would buy the real thing if it weren't $$$. Cool.

Hey geordie !

The DC version of MOTW is a great port but it suffer from sound problems. The lens have to read each sound (voices) each time there's one which is causing sound lags almost all the time. When you play this game, the dreamcast is going crasy and make a lot of noise. By the way, if you play this game a lot, your DC will either start to have lens problems or die on you.

There's truth in this; One day I left my DC on all day with it and next thing you know my controller ports where not working at all, and it couldn't read any other discs. COincidential?...maybe, but would I take the risk again?...Hell No!

Keep in mind I left my DC with MOTW on all day in the training mode, which is all I use most Neo ports for.

Ps2 MOTW is a vey good port indeed, i have it, and since i dont have the cash for an AES JP version of this game i play it a lot, i think there is a little little sprite flickering, but the game plays and sounds as good as it can, and refering to the Last blade 1-2 for the PS2, i also have it, but it sounds and plays like crap, the game suffers from serious sprite flickering, the framerate is also terrible, and the sound is like muffled and saturated, the game is so damn good that i bought both aes japanese versions just to make justice to this 2 great neo geo games:buttrock:

Still a better port than the DC version since you can play both games. Also I have next to none sprite flickering, but then again I'm playing on a Wega so this type of games look amazing in here with very little tweaking.

Nothing beats the originals though.

If it weren't for the price I'd recommend the DC version. It usually runs $30-$60 depending where you look. The PS2 port is price comparably, and is a better product.

Sound cutting out or complete absence was the only flaw I noticed in the ports. They didn't look all that great, but I attributed that to running the game through composite as opposed to playing games through component.
They're almost unplayable without a stick though, so I'd look into finding an Agetec stick before jumping in.

For that price you can get the actual MVS cart.

Spoken for the truth. Nothing compares to playing Garou on the Neo-Geo. I have the import DC copy, but I only paid $15-$20 for it.

I had the DC port and paid fucking $45 for it. I played it for litterally 5 minutes then listed it on ebay and weirdly enough it sold within the hour.

Do you guys think is to much paying 420 US for a near mint AES copy of MOTW? is it posible to get it for a lower value?
