What kind of surge suppressors do you use for your cabs? How many joules would be minimum?

i just bought whatever was priced right at target. actually bought 4, hooked each cab to one and then all 3 to another, that way i can just sit down and hit the surge protector switch with my feet and fire them up individually.

that can be easily rectified. for my candies I just ran wire from the ground points to the grounding pin on a hospital grade plug (the ones you open up and clamp wires into) nothing is connected to hot or neutral. plugged into the same surge protector the power cords are.

So you have three surges plugged into one surge protector? If so you must really like house fires.

He has one cab plugged into each power strip, that means he has the load of three cabs on the circuit total. Just because you daisy chain power strips does not mean they will catch fire. They can catch fire if you load up all the plugs on those three power strips with shit.

Ohh yeah I did that.....

I just took an extra 3 prong cord and hacked it up..... The Neo 29 actually has an earth Nut right on the back of it.

Gave me a jolt when I pluged it in tho...

every US cab I've encountered is wired with 3 prongs.

I remember at the pizza place growing up, the cab (I think it was a 1 slot dynamo) wasn't grounded right for whatever reason...

If you touched some bare metal on the edge of the CP and the pinball machine next to it, you would get a nice jolt........

Was a fun trick to pull on people..... Or do just for kicks....

But maybe it was the pin that wasn't grounded right.

My problem is that Half my damn crib is wired 1950's style (two prongs) and the other half is 3 pronged.... And nearly every room has some outlets on each line.....

Half my breakers are in my neighbor's apartment... Half in the cellar...
Shit was driving me crazy a month ago.

:Most likely the pin wasn't grounded right...If I play my dads pins and bump the one next to it I get a shock..It FN hurts too...:lolz:s

All his pins have three prong plugs, just something about them being next to each other as they won't shock you on thier own.....It seems if my hands on one and I touch the other I get a zap..

My Candy Cab came two prong plugged...That sucker used to zap me all the time...used to piss me off.(zap,Damn it!!!:loco:
I ran a wire from the back of the cab,..on the ground screw and attached it to a ac end plug with nothing
going to the AC..I just connected it to the grond prong and plugge it into a hidden switch board I have behing the cab.
No more zapping.
So many times I thought about wiring in a three prong plug but it's not as easy as it sounds.
It's so neat in the machine with the two prong plug that I don't want to hack it all up for a three prong.

I don't leave my cabs plugged in so I never thought about surge protectors. All my wall outlets are pretty easy to get to so it never was an issue for me. Maybe I should change that soon...
