I have the chance to get a very nice dedicated machine of this. Only question is, with all my other games (Tekken 5, ST, Third Strike, Soul Calibur 2) will I want to play this? I haven't even seen this game in years. Does it still hold up well? I know some purists don't like this as much as the first, but I used to play this one a ton, too.

Any advice, or should I just hold onto my money for the pinball machine?

i never played it much in its heyday aside from being a combo punching bag on the snes versions for my friend.

i recently got interested in the game and picked up gold for n64.

so that was pretty disappointing.

the arcade version of 2 is really the best ki game around. id love to have the original since id play it more seriously than on mame.

id suggest checking it out in mame and seeing if youll really want to play it.

i know id love to have the board to swap around with my mortal kombats.

its a really playable game today. graphics arent bad at all, the bgs are really neat since theyre fmv/prerendered trickery. and the game plays a lot like street fighter with the move inputs. combos are fun to pull off too.

my only complaints are the smallish character lineup and the high price.

It's okay. All you have to learn is the chain button attack combos to get multi-hits. It's all about memorization and not much in the way of actual skills in doing the fights IMO.

I HAVE played it long ago.. I'm wondering if it looks like shit now, or if it's deep enough where it will keep my attention. I will try to download the emu now to see. I remember loving the hell out of it long ago, but then again I used to love GI Joe when I was a kid, too. lol

How much can you get the machine for?

personally, if it was even a relatively reasonable price i'd go for it. considering it was dedicated, and the art was ok. monitor too.

The two KI games have been my favorite since I was little, but I guess it all depends on your tastes.

700 for the machine. I'll throw up a pic shortly...

only thing that pisses me off is the joysticks. I'll have to replace those with matching blue... Yeah, I've seen more than these pics. Everything is in pretty damn nice shape. Just a matter of if I want the game or not.

That looks like minty mint. I would sell a pinball machine just to get that.

It does look mint, if that's a game you really want I'd say go for it. Honestly though I think you'll bore of it not long after purchase. You've got some great fighters already, you could just get other boards for your already existing cabs in order to freshen up your lineup every once in a while.

You know what, I played it on an emu last night and this morning.... and I just don't care for it. It's aged very poorly, and I will just pass on this, I think. Oh well.

Actually I love both Killer Instincts, and would love to own both dedicated cabs someday once I move in a house. Right now I'll just settle with my boardmaster supergun.

Not a good idea, KI2 is simply stunning, the Midway cab is one of the nicest designs out there, and the art is all mint, you could easily make your money back, plus you could batter a bit if you wanted to.

KI2 plays great and Orchid has such an amazing ass, man that game is ace in my book!
