Going price from NamcoArcade's site--Arcade used is $410.00 + sales tax in the Midwest.

So I'd say use $410 as your bottom-price and go up from there assuming the $410 line as being working/functional--but needing, and not limited to, cosmetic repair, adjustment (controls, brightness, sound), cap-kit, etc.

But then, that's just my guess.

I'm saying a mint machine, not one that has "fuck you" carved into the wood side, and a crappy monitor with burn in. There's a big difference between the crap they sell and a nice home owned only machine.

I understand that.
I'm not saying to buy from them at all.

But since I have no idea what you're willing to spend, I looked at what I knew was available from the game's manufacturer. Then saw a price for a used, public machine and offered it as a way of saying that it's most likely going to run you more than four-hundred and ten dollars.

What's got you all in a tizzy today?

Ask on the klov forums, they will know the value for sure.

From what I've seen, maybe $700-800ish. IMO $1000 or over is too much, but I'd consider anything under that for an original, mint machine.

At the minty mintiest, $750.
Your a smart guy you should get into a basic electronics class before you start collecting twenty year old cabs. You could save a ton of cash and recondition old machines. I think reconditioning them is the best part of the hobby. I bet between craigslist and ebay you could get a working one for less than $300. Put $150 into it and have a basically new game. The wait to find stuff at the right price would be key. Electrical, monitor, buttons, controls, CP, ect ect. Thats the order I go in anyway. Not trying to be mean, I just have a good memory. I remember all the bad luck you have had in the past. Two or three 3rd strikes and the hydro thunder. I think you also had monitor issues. Anyhow my 2 cents.

For an original in fantastic condition, I'd would say $1000 is about right. I have seen plenty at auction barely working and beaten up go for half that. Sure, if you shop around and are willing to wait forever, you may save some money, but were can you really find an original in that condition? This was one the top 5 most popular arcades ever. Finding one that isn't beaten or restored would be an anomoly. I have one (got it for free) and I have to completely restore it. I already had the board redone.

A relative of mine found one in great shape for around 800. I paid about 375 for mine, but it's got full wear and tear on it. should restore it someday..
